First budget global airline network to start in UK and Asia

The world's first global budget airline network could be formed shortly, a report today says.

It would be based in Malaysia and flights would go from the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur to Amritsar (India) and Manchester. Luton Airport may also be added to the route.

The budget air service between the UK, India and Malaysia would be operated by Virgin, the budget airline Easyjet (which is based at Luton) and AirAsia (an airline based in Asia).

Tickets to the UK would cost between £43 and £365 - approximately half the price of a ticket on airlines presently operating routes between Malaysia, India and the UK.
