I'm not going out celebrating New Year and being ripped off in restaurants with the prices they're charging. And I've spoken to others over the last few days who take the same view.

The majority are staying in. Especially in the capital where it's windy and wet outside. They've just said on Sky Television News that Edinburgh city centre is half empty.

I've just watched a very nice firework display through the window put on by the kind courtesy of neighbours  8) .

I hope the noise of the fireworks has not upset your pets.

The din has reduced a bit over here. Hopefully the street drunks out there will now clear off.

New Year has just become a money-making thing for the entertainment industry. My advice to people is - if they want to celebrate New Year by going out to a restaurant or whatever: do it next weekend. Venues will be empty, prices will be lower than on New Year's Eve/Day and they'll all be desperate for custom   .

Good to see climate catastrophe was put on hold last night, as the governments let off loads co2 around the world in celebration of a new year.

What with the Chritmas lights across Britain blazing, including Lib Dem and Green supporting peoples houses in my area, we should have blown away any of the "benefit" of being fascist towards 4x4 drivers.

I shall take this glowing example set by our governments, along with Blairs multiple flights around the planet as a message that they were all just having a laugh after all.

Happy New Year!
