I don't support any political party.
I think the whole idea of party politics runs contrary to democracy.
Why do we have 600 or so MPs when all the decisions are taken by, at most, a couple of dozen?

I'm UKIP and Classical Liberal.

Not sure why social liberal is listed as a separate category. Anyone who is a classical liberal/libertarian is surely automatically a social liberal as well. Or is the social liberal option in this poll meant to be for those people who are social liberals but NOT economic liberals?

Anyway, better to be a social liberal than an anti-social one, I suppose. Mine's a pint.

Could I ask why you have asked the question? Is it in fact a bit of free market research by the English Democrats, whom you say you are a member of, in order that they can promote themselves to members of this forum according to the results received? I was happy to contribute positively to your last poll but won't be responding to this poll unless I have some more info on why you're asking the question. I see some other members are happy to answer, I have no problem with that - I & they know exactly what our respective beliefs are and have no problem in expressing them. I'm just not presently happy with the motive behind the question.

The Social Liberal originates from when the Liberal Party under Hebert Asquith and Lloyd George moved beyond just the defence of Liberty and low taxation as under Gladstone and on to creating the Welfare state i.e. unemployment benefit, old age pensions etc.
The Liberal Democrats and Tony Blair’s Labour are Social Liberals.
Capitalism combined with welfarism.
Most European countries under the PR system have Social Liberal parties and Classical Liberal parties.

Two reasons really.
1. I was trying to work out what type of people UKIP is made up off.
I was thinking its split between British Nationalists and Libertarians much like the Conservative party of the past.
2. The other but main reason.
I was trying to workout what would be the ideal party for Britain.
Would it be a British Nationalist Party, A Traditional Conservative Party or a Libertarian party or something else.

You shouldn’t be so suspicious.
