Unfortunately, yes, I think it is. Bigot watching, "nazi" hunting and fascist finding are the new sports. They feel too terrible to hunt animals or fell trees but whacking your own kind is way up there on the to-do list.

I'm a Minarchist or Centre-Right Libertarian/Classical Liberal.
I believe in a 'Safety Net' Welfare state & a 'Nightwatchman' tiny state overall. Legalise drugs, prostitution,etc. Against banning anything.
I was a UKIP candidate in Worcester City Council elections but left due to the amount of Thatcherites in the Party.

How much welfare state would you be allowing? I am also a libertarian, but I don't support welfare.

yes you just don't eat it, you have the choice. Magic mushrooms like Fly Agaric are not safe for human consumption but you should let Alice got to wonderland if she wants too.That is what Libertarians believe both Left or right, Anarchist or Minarchist. Milton Freidman said the same, you can watch it on Youtube or Google. I'll try to find the link for you mate.

Don't need it, I'm aware of Friedman's views on the issue. I happen to disagree though.

The question is, how is your average chum doing to decide what's safe to eat without the sterling work and expertise of depts. like Trading Standards and Environmental Health?

Sorry Smidgey I didn't notice your post earlier. My understanding of a 'Safety Net' Welfare state is Loans giving to charities to help individuals who can't help themselves. The money will come from Low Flat rate Tax but would be gradually phased out as Charities take over The role of The state & individuals become more responsible & less dependent. I think it would take a few decades before everyone in the UK gets used to living without any Welfare state at all.

Good point my Thatcherite friend. There may other things that shouldn't be banned, like things that if banned would take away Freedom from an Individual.
