Default Asda wants UK to take back its fishing grounds!

Item on this on Farming Today (Radio 4) this morning.

From Farming Today website:

"The supermarket giant ASDA has called for the government to pull out of Europe's Common Fisheries Policy. ASDA, which is owned by the US company Walmart, says Britain should take back control of its waters, and only permit UK trawlers to fish. What do environmentalists, usually not the biggest fans of global big business, make of the suggestion?"

[I see from googling that there is some history of Asda being attacked by Greenpeace over its "seafood policy". However, I don't see mention of the EU's role in destroying our fishing in Greenpeace tirade against Asda.]

Doesn't support come from the most unlikely of places?!

I say let's try and work with Asda to campaign on this issue.

Give ASDA your business with the family shopping this weekend.

Might get Sainsbury's, Tesco's and the others trying to outdo them with anti-EU policy pronouncements.

Our pro UKIP Western Morning News leads to-day front page:
"Dump Europe's Fishing Rules" Retail giant Asda calls for Britain to quit CFP. The WMNs goes on to mention how the Tory U turn angered the fishermen. the WMNs also made it their editorial ( Voice of the Westcountry) subject! All you non westcountry people should be able to see the story on the web, because after all the WMNs is the largest regional newspaper in the Country! and it's pro UKIP
