Why did Knapman parachute Bannerman into the Chairman's role?

A man with no track record in UKIP is suddenly laying down the law to elected NEC members - amongst which he could not count himself. One would need a peculiar kind of arrogance to take on a role like that.

DCB stood in the GE, was short notice due to Veritas defection and won 5.5% of the vote, saving his deposit. Richard got 1.8% but that can't be a fair comparison, as he was in a Welsh constituency.

DCB has't been flown in from nowhere as some people seem to make out he has been in the party 4 years, that is longer than Ski.

You wouldn't know it though. I hadn't heard of him until he was installed as Chairman.

Is that why you and other say he was "parachuted in by Farage"?

Are you willing to retract that statement now you know he's been with UKIP 4 years and been a GE candidate?

You've misled me Mat, thinking DCB only joined when he became Chairman.

I'm sure you're not wrong. I just hadn't seen nor heared of him at all, until it got announced he was Chairman.

Everyone was saying, Bannerman, Bannerman who the **** is Bannerman.

Then we found out he was Knapmans chum and all became clear.

He was one of the few candidates who did well enough to get 5.5% and save his deposit, in trying circumstances. That is impressive.

Yep I'll give him that as a tick.

Even if it was a target seat with money thrown at it.

This is the problem Matt. Instead of doing what I did, a Google search your people added up 2 and 2 and got 5. Your 'clear' was actually very muddy. He was selected on merit, that is clear. UKIP needs a Chairman with the best credentials possible, within UKIP, DCB has them. He was not a recent member brought in a buddy.

What you think that he got the Chairmanship, because he got 5.5% in a target seat?

I have some beachside property to sell in Peckham, interested?

He was put in place because he was a mate of the leader. No other reason.
