Notice that they go native when we publish pictures of their prophet ut they don't seem to be against getting tanked up and getting behind a wheel putting other people's lives at risk. |

My husband, who worked for the Arabs, will tell you about one of the Shieks, who used to visit his ship and demand a drink. My husband would explain that all alcohol was locked in bond until the ship sailed, as it was illegal in his country to imbibe, whereupon the Shiek would send for the Customs and demand that the bond be opened, then he would sit and sup whisky, the glass held out of sight under the sleeve of his dish dash, watching cowboy and indian films, or feasting his eyes on Barbara Streisand, until he was poured down the gangway.

I did a junior staff officer course whilst in the RAF (Henlow - C-Steam). One of the students was a Saudi Major. The course was only a month long, but he took a married quarter for his family. His sons dressed in modern western clothing and went INTO phpbb_London most nights to drink and indulge in the sins of the flesh in Soho. At the end of course party the Major brought his wife who was a voluptuous woman not averse to showing a discreet amount of cleavage, wearing a tad too much make up, drinking G&Ts and smoking like a chimney. She spoke fluent English and was very westernised, but was a Saudi citizen. I asked her about Islam and Saudi Arabia and she said she was enjoying a holiday from it.
An Omani officer I trained with went the whole hog and took to eating bacon at breakfast and drinking whisky at night, much to the chagrin of the other 8 Omanis on the course who were good Muslims. Interestingly alcohol is not available in Saudi, but at weekends Saudis jump INTO phpbb_their cars and head for Bahrain for a couple of nights of sun, sea and alcohol. The problem is that the individuals are no more hypocritical than the lapsed Christians in our country who have sex outside of marriage or get drunk or don't kill witches. They live in a society that seeks to control their actions by fear and oppression and have no choice from birth as to their religion, citizenship etc. The nutters still worry me. |

Hello Aardvark, I would just like to point out that i thought the witches remark was a bit of a cheap shot there, Burning witches hasn't been a requirement for membership of the club for a long old time. In fact i just sleep on the sofa now to avoid the old "You've been drinking again" Monologue and in fact some other nutters are still stoning theirs to death.

I saw it for years,we all get onto the plane in Tunis or Algiers (both, known as the arsehole of hell) and 10 minutes after takeoff and the fasten seatbelts sign is off, its party time for the devout and uprighteouse Muslem passengers.
The women are disrobing in the isle or in the heads returning in their tight jeans, and the blokes are INTO phpbb_the whiskey and beer chasers. I kid you not. From what I have seen over those years ,the women were loose with it ( the men were a bit more picky). They eat pork, ham and pate, they will drink anything going and if you ask them about their beliefs, they used to shrug their sholders as if to say,"get real, nobody can live like the book says, its the older ones who like it, or the fundamentalists". As for the Ramadan month,we had to lock our office and villa doors because we would be besieged with people looking for somewhere to have a ciggy or asking for water and sandwhiches. Not all of them, but lots of them, all fooling each other about how much better they were than their brothers. And thats the damned truth,so help me God. ops: |
