Luckily for Britain it's not. It's actually bloody hard work but we are doing it because of the opportunity presneted by both parties. Conservative panic at the dscimation by cameron and Labour without opposition for too long growing restive - see rebellions.

I have a front bench spokesman now.

if my facts are wrong then i shall have a word with jon serpell on' politics show',this is getting to be as reliable as the excellent 'in the thick of it'an MP quite oblivious to his uselessness and spin doctor dependency.An excellent bbc 2 from bbc 4 comedy.

This is good news for UKIP

BTW - for decades the French have taught that Napoleon won at Waterloo - we - the defeated then breached their victorius ranks and snatched the French Emperor! I always tell them I thought we had been good enough to win the Battle but I did not know we were so brilliant as to pull of such a dramatic recovery!

What passes for 'European history' in various parts of the EU does not change the facts. If you challenge them (rather like GLW) at least everyone else sees the truth. So as long as te syllabus is not taugt to our children it's none of our business.

I can find no mention in the White Paper about the history syllabus - can you point me to a source for this? (I see you have now dropped the word "compulsory" from your assertion.)
