Excellent example of letters to the press here from Nigel Scrase and published in the Western Gazette this week. Please use the message in your own letters and in your own words - don't just "copy 'n paste" or the Editor might spot the trick! John kelly - thanks to Nigel. Dear Editor, There is a modern gunpowder plot afoot, four hundred years after the original Gunpowder Plot by Guy Fawkes and his associates. It hasn't made the headlines yet, but the plotters and their plans have been discovered. Once again the target is to put a "bomb" under government, in this case self-government. The modern plot is the plan to close the military explosives factory near Bridgewater and another in Chorley (Lancs). This will end production in the UK of the explosives needed for ammunition and missile propellants, and make our armed forces dependant upon foreign suppliers. These ex-Royal Ordnance plants were bought by BAE Systems some time ago, and they have decided to do a deal with the French government owned company, GIAT, to move manufacture to France. The MoD, who you reasonably might think would have Britain's security interests at heart, has tacitly agreed to this move. The MoD's studied negligence is no doubt dictated by this government's determination to integrate Britain's military capability with that of our EU "partners". The problem is, of course, that supplies of ammunition can be denied for political reasons, as happened during the first Gulf war when Belgium refused to sell ammunition to Britain. By deliberate government policy, the last vestiges of Britain's ability to exercise an independent foreign and security policy are being eroded. Its bargaining power at the international table is being pared away. If there was an Olympic sport of shooting oneself in the foot, Britain would win Gold every time. Except that it would have to ask France for the bullet (which it would be happy to supply)! Your Faithfully, N Scrase |

The following letter is to be sent to the South Wales Echo & Western Mail next week. It can be utilised anywhere in the UK of course by just changing the Regional names as required..
Dear Editor, Some of your more inquisitive readers may wonder who or what is behind the proposal to amalgamate the four Welsh Police Forces INTO phpbb_a single Wales “Regional” force. You get a clue when you hear that the same suggestion is being put forward in other “Regions” of the U.K., like, for example the West Midlands, South West, etc. There is further evidence, when one hears that these proposals are also aimed at the Ambulance Services and Fire Service Also when one hears that County Councils, as we have known them, are to be abolished and their powers transferred to Unelected Regional assemblys. Again one hears that County Councils, as we have known them, are to be abolished and their powers transferred to unelected Regional Authorities. So who are these people who order our Ministers to break up the long established and proven organisations of our Society. Yes , you’ve got it! Its these un-elected officials in Brussels who look for total control of our lives and affairs. They are not interested in efficiency, just control of the power to rule our lives. Why is it only the U.K. Independence Party will tell you what is happening to this Country? Don Hulston, (Chairman) UKIP Cardiff & Dist. Branch |
