Default Corporal punishment.

I would support flogging for:-

Vandalism, general nuisancing.
Loutish/threatening behaviour.
Car crime.
Drunken street violence.
Petty theft.
Trespassing/house burglaries.

I believe this measure would have a great effect on those already committing these offences and would serve as an excellent deterrent for anyone considering following in their footsteps.

On a more personal note - If, for instance, it was my house, my car or property, etc. which bore the brunt of this mindless behaviour - I would be more than happy to administer it too.

No. Kinda....bit of justice for the victim.

We've spent far too long pussyfooting around, pandering to these no marks who care "not a jot" what misery they subject law-abiding folk to.

Check out any local rag, chock-full of the above list.

so do the BNP enjoy being flogged !! kinky !!!

i think law should work as an example, showing floggings as a normal punishment could in effect spread INTO phpbb_schools with kids flogging kids over minor things.. is this realy the way you want society to move forward..

as a society we need to look at how to move to the future, and look at how we can evolve as a society, alot of these crimes you speak of are from a lack of education, and upbringing skills and evan poverty or lack of poverty.

these aims are hard to fullfill, and if they where simply solved by floggings then im sure we would still be doing it, also if these question where so simple then surly anybody could run the country, the problem is now any body can think they can run the uk, but the honest answer is we need a person with a true vision of how we can move forward with minimal change yet evolve as a society. so far this last 50 or so years its all been who has the most PR and spin doctors..

I couldn't care less what the BNP think of corporal punishment.

On the ground and running, I believe it would have the desired effect (see above).

I disagree. Crime is caused by criminals, i.e. greed, lack of self control, laziness and selfishness. There are plenty of poor people who don't commit crimes or benefit fraud. Using poverty as an excuse merely encourages others to think that it is normal and acceptable behaviour (just the same as your argument against flogging).

While I am in favour of schools (and parents) having the choice about whether to use a smacking policy, I am against flogging. I am sure that there must be more constructive ways to punish adults that wouldn't necessarily work on children. Perhaps a few twelve hour shifts in a sweat shop on a weekend, at £4 an hour to pay off a fine and repay the victim would suffice.

when i say a due to poverty or lack of poverty i mena it in the sence of upbringing.

ie some poor kids have had a hard life and their parrents have not taught them the general self respect needed, this isnt across the board, damn im from a poor background and practicly brought myself up, yet im not a violent criminal.

it can got eh other way, lack of poverty, aka filthy rich, can bring some kids up to feel they are imortal... and maybe resent society as they just dont fit in with it.

criminals dont commit crimes, crimes are commited by criminals. ie nobody is a criminal till they commit a crime.

think thta makes sence....(its late and i need sleep lol)

I think you would find that if criminals were offered the punishment of an old fashioned flogging with a cat-o-nine -tails or made to work in a sweat shop, I think you'd find they'd jump at the chance of working in a sweat shop! I know I would!

Having criminals working in sweat shops would just be laughed at (by them). If you think that would change their outlook on life I feel you are sorely mistaken.

Having mentioned earlier that last week I was threatened to be shot and on another occasion(same day) killed by knife, I today find the company safe (a ton weight) unbolted from the floor and in the back street, alarms and door ripped out, mess spewing everywhere. The perpetrators fortunately could not open the safe.

We've been sitting on our hands far too long.
