Christina, Point taken, That is just him, and he can do good sometimes and helps keeping the forum ticking over.
But also, that is me curmudegionic and direct. In this part of the world a spade is always a spade. We don't spend forever beating about bushes. We swat gnats here.

I've just updated my profile to show where I am located. We're the same here, but I've travelled and lived in different parts of the country too. I'm a bit more cosmopolitan than many Oldhamers.

Good. Since 'cosmopolitan Oldham' is an oxymoron.

Not if you visit the local RC church, C-steam. I couldn't believe how many nationalities were represented.

I am with you on this one Oliver, I have been offended by some of the posts on this forum that have criticised, and make fun my faith (Christianity).

I know everyone should have freedom to voice their opinions, but I'm now having to ask myself as a member of UKIP, and this forum should I be visiting a forum that has SOME people on it that put down Christians and their beliefs. :?:

Milo,

Entering the political arena involves being involved with people with various beliefs. I do not believe in Christian isolationism which keeps some Christians out of politics.

I confess to avoiding many threads where Christianity is being criticised. I think the Holy Spirit is involved in changing people's hearts and minds, and forums don't seem to be a place where He operates like that.

No matter what party you join, you'll find people who don't like Christianity. As someone wrote of this forum, it represents the 'left' of UKIP mainly, and most people friendly to Christianity are probably in the right of the mainstream UKIP.

If you cannot take a little crit of your faith, then you are not in any role to complain about Muslim PC nonsense meaning we cannot criticise Islam. All faiths should be subject to Criticism.

And individuals do not make up UKIP in its entirety! Just because there may be a few that openly criticise your faith doesn't mean UKIP is anti-christian!

As to the first, not a bad idea. Strange as it sounds, personally I think people make an error in lumping 'Christianity' together with those who call themselves 'Christians'. This statement needs some explaining, so here goes:-

When 'Christianity' is critiscised, normally the direction is for the things that have happened in the past IN THE NAME of Christianity, or by quoting examples where the Christian church is involved in something not-so-nice or horribly politically correct. In othe words, the critisism is aimed at Christianity the institution, not Christ the person, nor, I think, those people who call themselves 'Christians' most of whom (reading between the lines) are Christians in the sense of a personal experience with Christ rather than hopping along to the local C of E three times a year.

For those in the 'personal experience' category, politics must be a minefield BUT the values we must take forward in UKIP (or progcon, if you must Chrissy) won't be, I hope, too far removed from your own positions.

Some of us only have to 'keep the faith' in one sphere - you have to do it in two. Not easy, but keep trying.

As to the second Christina, as far as i can recall the Holy Spirit will operate where ever he wants to!

You know, I agree with you. I think everyone should have their own point of view, and I will forgive every word that has criticised my faith.

I have now come to the conclusion that this is what politics is all about.

And I'm sorry if I have seemed to have all came over, a little mad.

I also believe that UKIP is really the only party for me as Christian and a Patriot.
