If we but understood the origins of "Sainthood" there would be no bother.
In the early days of the church of Christ as some were martyred their contemporaries/friends rightly honoured and remembered them. on the day of their death. (Imagine the first ukip martyr when it happens?) It was not until superstition crept in and people started praying to the dead that it all went wrong. Only God the Father answers prayer, Christ told us that. I do not dishonour "The Saints" but it must be seen part of a system that lacks scriptural support and one from which genuine protestants and evangelical christians recoil. |
