Thatcher to join new series of 'Celebrity Jungle'

Carol Thatcher - the effervescent daughter of the former eurosceptic Conservative Prime Minister, Lady Thatcher – is to be a contestant in the forthcoming ITV 1 and 2 television ‘competition’ (i.e. ‘reality T.V.) “Celebrity in the Jungle” :P :shock:

Reports emerged weeks ago that Carol would be in the ‘show’ but there was no official confirmation – until yesterday. Carol is anti-euro and anti-EU Constitution (like her Mother)

Also appearing as a contestant is Jimmy Osmond (42) who sang the song “Long Haired Lover From Liverpool” in 1972 when he was part of the world famous American ‘Osmonds’ group.

Leftist former television presenter, Magenta de Vine :x , who once worked for the BBC (fronting programmes for young people) is to participate as is Dicky Dickinson. Television Presenter Dicky was a contestant in the last ‘Dancing’ series presented by Bruce Forsyth from Blackpool Tower Ballroom on BBC 1 Television.

Sean Wilson, the actor who played Martin Platt in Coronation Street (until last week, when – after 20 years - the character was written out of the programme), will also join the team in ‘Celebrity Jungle’.

Ricky, the pocket-sized car mechanic character that used to be in ‘Eastenders’ (until about two years ago) has been included - as has his former colleague Elaine somebody or other who played one of the Slater sisters in ‘Eastenders’.

Cannon and Ball - the two comedians who used to be on the box regularly in the 1980’s – have also agreed to participate in the new series of ‘Celebrity Jungle’

Jimmy Osmond is to be paid £25, 000, Elaine (from ‘Eastenders’) £45, 000 and Carol Thatcher £60, 000. No doubt her Mother, Lady Thatcher (80), will become an avid viewer of the next series of ‘Celebrity Jungle’, which starts soon :P .

Can't wait to watch it! :roll: I am amazed that anyone would wish to watch such **** starring yesterdays celebrities who must consider it either a good career move or they're just desperate to get INTO phpbb_the spotlight again! Either way it is very sad :cry:

I’ve never heard of half the people named in the two articles below :twisted: , but Carol Thatcher, David Dickinson and Jilly Goolden I regard as ‘good eggs’

:P . The new series of ‘Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ begins this coming Sunday (20th November on ITV 1/2). As it only lasts a fortnight – and isn’t dragged out for months like ‘Big Brother’ – it might be worth looking at ‘now and again’.

The celebrities are already said to be at each other’s throats over pay deals for appearing on the two-week show.

2. The journalist Carol Thatcher, pledged not to try to emulate her Mother, promising “I won’t be the Iron Lady junior.” She added “I think she’ll probably be very critical (when she finds out I’m on the programme). I can’t say it’s her sort of show so I might just tell her that I’ve done it when I get back.”

3. The world of TV soaps is well represented in the new series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! Two former Eastenders stars, Sid Owen and Elaine Lordan – better known as Ricky Butcher and Lynn Slater :x – will be facing the jungle ordeal. Kimberley Davies, who played Annalise in Neighbours, and Sheree Murphy, who was Emmerdale barmaid Tricia, will bring a touch of glamour.

4. Singer Jenny Frost :?: will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of another former Atomic Kitten star - Kerry Katona – in winning I’m a Celebrity. She is reported to be receiving £100, 000 to appear in the jungle challenge – four times the payments to some of the other contestants.

Two more pop singers – Antony Costa of Blue and veteran heart throb Jimmy Osmond – join Jenny in the jungle.

5. Bronzed antiques expert David Dickinson will have the perfect opportunity to top up his year-round tan on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! Fellow television presenter Jilly Goolden has also signed up, but will have to leave her beloved wines at home as she leaves civilisation behind.

Ant and Dec :evil: return for hosting duties in the fifth series of the ITV ratings winner, which begins on Sunday 20th November, 2005.

6. Producers have warned 10 foolhardy stars they face the most absurd, unusual and horrific set of Bushtucker trials on I’m a Celebrity.

Co-executive producer Richard Cowles said “They can expect things to be a lot tougher than anything they saw in previous years” He said the wildlife in the Australian jungle has “reclaimed its territory” in the year since the fourth series.

Sombody get onto Costa when he get's out! He managed to get a very anti-EU statement in on primetime!

He's a nice, decent chap from what I have see (last night was my first viewing!).
