Default A WONDER,OR A BLUNDER?

Just been for my daily 2mile walk and to check on something that I really cant believe is still standing.Last year the Town Coucil started installing new signage at various locations in Town.I noticed that a couple of these, had, for once been marked CORRECTLY and said nothing to anyone but decided to keep an eye on them.Well, they are still there, one sign says"Shopping Centre 1mile." and the other"The Park 1/4mile." I think its great that these have slipped through the metric net.Or,could it be that UKIP have a secret supporter in the Council Highways Department? I hope we do,because every little helps.

is it not illegal to put signs up in metric?

I have a leaflet about some signs in glastonbury where they tried to sneak them up, it says

"The museum (1700 mtrs)."

To start to use Metric is the first step toward losing our language. Imperial measurements are what make us British.
