Default One Good Reason

Yep, I know this probably ain't the best place to ask this but put yourselves in the shoes of the opposition for a moment.

Can anyone give me one good reason why the UK needs to be in the EU?

(I'll let you know where I'm going with this after a few responses)

I asked a similar question once:

http://www.ukipforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1209

as you can see the replies were very convincing :?

I know there is no reason to be in it but, if someone has a reason its nice to have something to come back with..

Well, Oliver Letwin told me that we need to be in because of the single market.

Reply:- Mexico isn't in the single market but has a trade agreement with the EU.

Europhiles will tell you that British jobs depend on the EU. We have sold our Electricity and Water Companies to other members of the EU.

Big is good, the bigger the better for a trading block.

All very plausible but!!!!

what happened didnt it work out, is that why we later joined the EU?

One good reason to be in the eu...you cannot leave unless you are in it.
