Hi

im going to generalise here and again i might need my suit of armor but fair enough

Question : why has this forum been a little flat off late

Answer : In my opinion and generalising - here is how a lot of the posts are going

someone quotes something about labour/the EU/foreingers in general/etc how terrible it is and how something should be done (bangs fist off table) however no solutions no ideas just wallowing in pity about how badly off you are

however when something a bit differnt is posted ie from the outside looking in http://www.ukipforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2760 it duley gets ignored

somone posts something postive http://www.ukipforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2787 and its still not good emough

basically less of the trawling the news sites for little stories to copy and paste and come up with some solutions to the problems that this country is facing the ones you know about theier are plenty and not everything is an EU conspirisy

remember if you get your wish and come out of the EU the country will still face problems they wont all disapprer overnight you are percieved to be a single issue party. and if the discussion on these boards of late is anything to go with to a certain extent you still are

right off to put on the suit of armour, i dont doubt for one second that this is going to cause a reaction and if it dousent then this forum is in worse shape than i thought

depends what you mean by 'of late'. Certainly not as exiting as the preVeritas days when there was lively debate on this issue, however, for my 2 euro's worth (about 6d?):-

1. There are only so many topics that can be discussed - many have been covered already in the last 6 months and I, for one, can't be assed with another debate on fox hunting (for example)

2. It's the lull before the storm. A sharp intake of breath before the GE.
3. Relating to the above, there is little discussion of the current UKIP leadership and its strange and bizarre workings. Loyalty, I think. Personally i suspect some blood letting after the GE.

In short, there will be quiet times and exiting times. This is a quiet time. Stay with it.

The question is what do you want from this forum, tis it to solve all the problems in the country?

I myself, Im just a foot soldier, Im the only foot soldier that is doing anything to put our ukip candidate INTO phpbb_parliament, yes their are other people working in higher office that you dont see but at the moment I have a very large area to cover, I come on to this site for information and light entertainment, Im not for to much in deapth debate as I am just getting INTO phpbb_this

But I do have opinions of my own. as is my opinion that, (aload of backslappers) as suggested by some other people that come to this site from other places, who give themselves stupid or even rude names, if all they want is an arguement I am not INTO phpbb_that.

But I have generally found that if you ask a question it does get a decent response. and a lot of the bits of Information that is brought to the attention of us, such as the newspaper items, this is good info as I do not buy newspapers.

It is also interesting to people that just view this sight and are not logged in, Which is what I did for a few months untill I could not sit quiet about the pathetic leadership squabble.

well Ive had my say, I will leave it up to the proffesionals that frequent this sight to answer your claim.

Scotgirl. How tough is that suit ,lets see. I disagree with you about the news story’s they might not be great debating points but they have an immense educational value, I for one have learnt quite a few things that the EU are up to, things I can then relay to the general public. I believe if you are going to stand for a cause you should get as much information as possible. Now I cannot possible scan every paper and website looking for this information. This is where the forum comes INTO phpbb_its own, we have a huge collective working together finding the info and posting it here for the benefit of every body.
Now why do I think the forum has gone flat, well is it just a coincidence this has happened since the two Veritas sites have started, I don’t think so we have lost some of our more vocal members to these sites, look at the membership for these sites Anthony’s 300+ in a few months then look at their topic of discussions, Race, Muslims, Gays, Immigration and Religion to name but a few, now compare them to our most popular debates Fox hunting, Kilroy, Leadership, Race and Exeter.
Now which site has the more emotive subjects on. Which brings in the argument should we be debating more contentious issues that will attract more members ,more members = more UKIP voters(possibly) Put it this way how many people watch News Night and how many people watch Coronation Street, we might not like the answer but that’s what makes the general public tick. So should this site Adopt this strategy, I don’t know I could think of quite a few subjects that would get the keyboards tapping but do we really want postings for postings sake.

so fair enough you like getting the snippits of info from the EU however you are only getting at best half the story here i posted on

http://www.ukipforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2760

about you need to present both sides of any argument, if your going to be going out onto the streets and campaining about this stuff then you need to know whats going on and not just little snippits of the big EU monster is coming to get you

you will probably come accross lots of people who dont know much about these issues but u will also come accross people who know more as they will be willing to read whats going on and by going out there with only half the story you are not doing yourselves or your party any favours at all

remember all your getting on this forum is what a select few anti EU people want you to hear not the full story

i havent really needed my suit i will say that everyone who has posted has respected opinion and then posted why they disagree thank you everyone

Scot girl. Yes they are usually snippets with links to the original story, personally if I like the issue I will research it further. Why do you think the forum has gone a bit flat.

again just my opinion

but its pretty much what ive already posted youve got me on the EU snippits people like them fair enough

but there isnt much to really get me going ie interested enough to have an opinion isnt all true i certainly had my say about truck drivers yesterday and certain threads do interest me

however the main interest (at this present moment) on this forum is the EU scary monster and as a political party who really has to climb a very steep hill to be accepted as something more than a single issue party this could become a problem

however that will not change unless the members themselves wish to disucss other issues
