Remarkable job by the yanks then to work out what they were, work out a dropping system and then Nuke Japan in less than 9 weeks.

Anyway, you'd need a process to enrich the uranium-the only technology available (and even now its tricky) was the centrifuge, as at oak ridge and that plant was enormous. Late-war germany suffered enormously from power shortages, not to mention being bombed a little. Both these facts mitigate against such a facility being present, even apart from not finding any trace physically.
