Robert, the forum is not here for your personal exercises in pedantry, moaning and anti-UKIP propaganda. If you stick to the topics in hand then they don't get locked. Instead of complaining, perhaps you would consider improving the quality of the debate instead?

The forum clearly states that "The UK Independence Forum is an unofficial bulletin board for anyone who supports the general goals of the UK Independence Party and other anti-EU parties". You don't fall INTO phpbb_that category, so you shouldn't really be posting here at all. If you don't like the rules, feel free to reserve your posting to Stormfront.
I shall do my utmost to add some erudition to the proceedings and avoid pedantry and other irritating tendencies.
I still think you have been a tad heavy-handed ... if I may make so bold.

Thank you, and yes I may have been heavy handed. We do have to ensure that the forum is a friendly environment so that everyone feels comfortable posting. Ego clashes do not contribute to the political debate.

I bet my ego is smaller than yours.

I was being shy about posting the said items.

The UK Independence Forum is an unofficial bulletin board for anyone who supports the general goals of the UK Independence Party and other anti-EU parties. The aim is to allow the bulk of the UKIP party membership, and non-members, to discuss all aspects of British politics and the party itself.

Please try to be patient with other people in the forums; political discussion often becomes heated, and it is very easy to misinterpret the intended meaning in text based forums. This should be a friendly place for people to suggest new policies, talk about global political events and perhaps even make some new friends along the way.

This site is completely unofficial, run by lowly party members; it is not moderated by the head honchos. However, if you want to be critical of UKIP or its leaders, please do so in a positive and constructive way.

You should also read the Terms of Usage before posting, so that you understand what you can and can't do here.

Thanks,

Anthony Butcher [Site Admin]
I take the point about criticism being "positive and constructive". But remember, this is open to interpretation, Mr Butcher.
Debate should be entered INTO phpbb_with the mind open to all ideas and arguments.

That wasn't a dig at you, just that these discussions sometimes become tit-for-tat arguments with both sides just trying to look smarter. I have been involved in my fair share to know that they don't achieve anything and just leave a bad taste in the mouth.

I have often thought this could do with re-wording.
"Understand what and what is not permitted" may be more appropriate.

After all, I 'can' post anything I choose. As I do.
As can everyone.
Some may get booted for so doing though

What is sometimes lacking is a sense of humour. I see Intel laughing her jugs off here.
Your points on grammar are perfectly correct but I detected a touch of eggshell treading.
I wish Mr Butcher would relax a bit more and learn to take somethings in his stride. There are occasions when you do not need to be so intense about politics, to lie back and take a more jaundiced look at things.
People who disagree with you do not mean you any harm, Mr Butcher. Political debate should be more of a pleasure. Otherwise you could frighten them off.
Not me, of course, because deep down I know Mr Butcher is a good man who holds deep views on his country and its position in the world.
I also love my country but the world I see out there is not the world he sees. You see, we all have our own different windows and we just want to share our vision with others.
No offence intended.

even if its not true?

Surely if it true then we should be able to say what we like. Yes, not twist the truth or even make things up!!!

Something to debate.

Taken from a cartoon. At Roberts Edwards cartoons dot whatever (google Robert edwards)

Is this cartoonist license?

(If we had not fought in the war we would have been invaded by foreigners.)

The way I remember it is, there were a lot of foreigners fighting on our side to help repel the enemy at the time.

(Support your country.)

Do not immigrants help support our country by paying taxes? We are not against immigrants its just the amount.

This little island cannot support such a large amount. But that doesnt say we dont want any immigrants/foreigners!
