Default Politics and Football

I have just watched the Arsenal against Sheffield United game tonight and one thing struck me was there were approx 30,000 fans that have driven miles to watch this game and paid about £35 per ticket. What I thought was, this is a sad reflection on society these people care enough to travel miles for a football game and pay for the privilege, but how many people do you get at a political meeting 5, 6 maybe 10. I find the thought most depressing. Why do we fight for the people that are more interested in soaps and football and the likes? I Just sometimes wonder why I bother.

You bother because others don't.

Yes I always have, but sometimes when you see the numbers that don’t bother that their country is being sold out you sometimes think they deserve what they get and sod it I’ll go abroad to live. I know I’m wrong but sometimes its easier to give up.

B.A. you must be a W.B.A. supporter they get less people watching them than comes to a political meeting. I don't know if it's true, but I've heard if you go past the ground 15 minutes before kick off you're in the team. To get more people to your meetings print the agenda before and always have a contenious issue. Failing that tell them Jordon's coming!

Poor old B A Ware - one minute he's up the next he's down. You just have to keep plugging away. Sounds like B -V's Boy might be a Wolves fan like myself

Only trouble is elbarracuda when your down you can see more clearly, when you are up you are blinded by the light. Anyway it’s about time you started posting for someone that is interested in politics you don’t have much to say. 8) The needs of the many out way the needs of the few.

Bribe someone to flash subliminal UKIP messages on the giant screens.

Buy uniforms for the band (snazzy purple & yellow?) 8)

Bribe the program printer

Rush in beforehand and put a leaflet on every seat

ROFL

Me a Wolves supporter! Although I did live with a girl from Wolverhampton for some years  Lovely girl!!
B.A. I have the solution to the problem of not getting many people to your meetings, cause they prefer to go to football instead. Hold the meeting at half time! Give everyone a half an orange, quick chorus of Abide With Me followed by a penalty shoot out and they'll all be with you. It makes perfect sense when you think about it, after all Birmingham's ground is called St. Andrews, the Scots will love that, You've got the bullring in Brum, that should secure the spanish vote and if you dress up as Amy Turtle or Benny you'll be home and dry. I love it when a plan comes together
