Default The Bear's Lair: Zero growth is too high

Quote:
Throughout human history it has been demonstrated, that provided knowledge, law and infrastructure are not destroyed (yes, the Dark Ages, even though depopulated, were indeed Dark) a country that has suffered a population drop, or is for some other reason far below its population potential, will be wealthy, in terms of the living standards of its people. Conversely, a country whose population has been increasing in an unchecked manner will have low living standards, high unemployment and high crime, even if it is technologically sophisticated by the standards of its day, as was Charles I's Britain.
Interesting artivle on the whole. Our government is hell-bent on flooding this country with cheap immigrant labour, under the pretence that they will help fund pensions. Just like a pyramid scheme this will end in disaster and this has been proven throughout history. Britain does not need to grow it's population and it wouldn't hurt if it dropped a bit. History shows it can actually be beneficial to have a population drop!

The poor countries of this world could certainly do with a drop. Then it may be possible to put the structures in places to stop those countries being poor again! This is down to the countries themselves to work out how they acheive this.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc. Broken-windows fallacy. Axe-grinding. Hogwash.
