British historian, David Starkey, has stated that whites are becoming black. For instance, the chavs (white British teens who act like black gangsters and cause trouble). What do you think of his idea?

I can't listen to Nicky 'raving Trot' Campbell, I'll end up throwing things. This is my favourite incident with him.

"Nicky Campbell has apologised after he branded a guest on his BBC Radio 5 Live show a 'Fascist' after they traded insults.

Campbell, host of consumer affairs TV show Watchdog, made the comments about Paul Staines, the political blogger known as Guido Fawkes.

He introduced his guest as the writer as a 'Right-wing political blogger' before Staines countered with 'It's nice to be on the Left-wing BBC this morning'.

Then the Radio 5 Live presenter added: 'It's nice to have a Fascist on, Good morning!' before he tried to calm the situation by adding 'just joking'.

Staines, who was conducting the interview from a BBC-supplied radio car, immediately demanded an apology. Campbell apologised then and once again at the end of the interview on the breakfast show."

He didn't apologise immediately like the Mail suggests, Guido told him to take it back, to which Campbell initially refused. I think he got told (in his earpiece) to take it back and apologise, as Guido has quite a following and 5 Live probably guessed they were going to get both barrels and a lot of press coverage that they didn't want.

To be honest I've never found Campbell too bad, in fact radio Five isnt so bad - its Rdaio Four the extremist Gloablist station - their whole programming is geared up to promoting Multiculti nowadays. It's a shame because I used to love Radio Four before it turned into a purely propaganda channel. I could cope with the bias, which has always been there, but not with what is clearly the policy in recent years of making propaganda its primary role and the dishonest reporting.

I'd say Starkey is correct. Lacking a homegrown culture that excites, mainstream Britain has filled the void with a ready-to-hand import. And it's not only a youth thing either. People in their forties and fifties have bought into it too.

But this is not new. Mainstream establishment British culture seems entirely based on history. It has hardly evolved since earlier last century. Therefore, many (perhaps most) people haven't connected with it. They've been attracted by modern, evolving, more-vibrant and more-relevant cultures.

It was this way in the 1930s as Hollywood's influence grew. And even more so from the '40s, when almost all American popular culture invaded and took root.

Apart from a few flurries in the '60s that left their marks, post WWII Britain has come up with few popular distinct, home-grown, positive, cultural legacies. And even they have their bad sides as well as their good.
