Default The 2nd Cornish National Minority Report

Below those interested will find the 2nd Cornish National Minority report submitted to the UK government and the Council of Europe's secretariat for the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. It makes a great synthesis of the arguments for the existence of a Cornish national identity

A URL to the pdf is here: http://www.oldcornwall.org/Cornish%2...doc.%20PDF.pdf

All those who support our cause should feel free to circulate to all interested parties.

If Orkney and Shetland did vote for independence they would be quite rich little countries with the North Sea oil.
I wonder how Mr Salmond would deal with that?

Thanks for the responses. To address some of the nonsense above you might like to take a look at this articles that describes our political and constitutional history. What makes Cornwall unique: What makes Cornwall unique |Cornwall Info

Why don't you lot just organise a referendum to leave England? If you vote to go, you can stand on your own two feet. You can finance yourselves, and take your share of the national debt.

Then we English can build toll roads into Cornwall, have border crossings, visa requirements etc.

They make a pretty good argument for Cornish devolution, now we just have to give it to them.

Indeed. And they are ethnically different from the mainland Scottish being more closely related to Norwegian Vikings. As I recall in the Channel4 people of the isles programme it was ONLY in Orkney that they found Viking DNA
