Default Making the Libertarian party bigger

Has anyone though of contacting the New Party and getting them to merge with LPUK?
They have a lot of funding and the people involved tend to be Libertarian.
I think you may well get a few members off Libertas too.

At present the Libertarian party has 312 members according to the Electoral Commision I could quite easly see this figure over a 1000 in no time at all.

But surely a merger proposal would be an infringement of their personal liberty.

How often is the Elecotral Commision update? I think it is a bit more than 312.

How many members has the Libertarian Party got?

The Libertarian Party has about 500 members at present, but we have new members joining every week. Part of my job this year is to bring my knowledge of business processes to boost recruitment and to improve the way in which we communicate with our members – we have been chasing up some people, for instance, who simply hadn't remembered that their membership had lapsed.

That should be more than enough to take over the Liberal party if such a method was tried.

Do you work in Mergers and Acquisitions? You seem very keen on takeovers.

Why don't members of the New Party or Liberals just join LPUK? why don't LPUK just attract more members or even why don't LPUK answer their emails from prospective new members?

Are you a member? If not, why not join?
It was the leadership who took the website down, not Simon - Visit YourBNP for the proof.

They should take over the Liberal Party. Not sure they will though.

I'm at Exeter where the liberal party actually has some local councillors. I met some of them once to discuss their politics and they are very left-wing, for example they wish to tax people 50% at 100k. I doubt they would go down without a fight, because they're strong in certain areas like Exeter and Liverpool - and it's also just a bit of a ****-ish thing to do to another party.

Plus the word liberal these days means "social democrat" - to save confusion it's best to call ourselves libertarians. The liberals probably get sick of being confused with the lib dems anyways.
