Default How will Scotland vote in the 2010 GE

The SNP are the Governing party in the Scottish Parliament but at the moment only hold 7 out of the 59 Scottish Westminster seats.

The First Minister of Scotland and the leader of the SNP Alex Salmond MSP MP has said that he predicts that the SNP will gain a block of 20 MPs and possibly be larger than Labour in Scotland regarding Scottish Westminster seats.

Is it possible? I would like to think so.......at least there's no chance of a BNP seat in Scotland!

Unfortunatly it looks like it will be the case that the SNP will gain the majority of Scottish Westminister seats, another pro-EU left wing party, not particuarly what i want.

I really can't see the SNP winning a majority (30+) of Scottish Westminster seats, certainly not this time round.

The opinion polls put them ahead in terms of the popular vote, but their support tends to be evenly spread. Labour support, on the other hand, is more concentrated, so has a large (ish) number of safe seats.

The SNP will certainly increase their seat tally, but to about 10-15 I should say. Alex Salmond's target of 20 is possibly a wee bit ambitious, but achievable. I reckon the SNP could emerge as the largest party in Scotland, but only by a whisker.

Lib/Lab/Con : Scotland will do what London tells you to do.

The SNP may not be perfect, but they're the only party who, by definition, have the Scottish people's best interests at heart.

Welsh "Nationalists" show that its really all just about hating England when they come out in support of other nations leaving the Union too. I mean, if you just want to have an independent Wales, then what the hell do you care about Scotland? Oh yes, you're a Celtic racist.

I agree the SNP will increase its seats tally if people still want a change of government next year, where they are the obvious choice to replace Labour people are likely to vote that way.

I think Salmond should not count his chickens about trying to influence Westminster too much, Cameron will deal with more natural allies in Northern Ireland and perhaps any independents elected first.
