Ok I understand what you're saying. I think it's a good point that you make.

Btw, I am NOT the same thing as LPUK. I'm sure neither of us is glad of the direct association.

The final result might be different but the method is still very red. Although i admit libertarianism is a wider gamut of political thought, but the policies of this Libertarian party is quite close to early communism.

Ive been doing a bit of reading on this subject as of late, political history is my field.

One thing that puzzles me about Libertarianism that i cant get my head round is the strange elitism i detect thats very different to other left idoligy's.

Libertarianism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia wikis your friend.

I couldn't see Libertarians and nationalists getting along, although having similar views and aspirations.

You are so far off the mark it is untrue.

Communists are collectivists. Libertarians are individualists.

Communists believe in state control of the economy. Libertarians believe in laissez-faire capitalism.

Communists believe in equality over liberty. Libertarians believe in liberty over equality.

If this is your field, I'd hate to see you out of your depth in someone else's field.

If you are puzzled, it's because you are unable to grasp the simple concepts that libertarianism is the ultimate enemy of elitism, and that it is a right-wing, not statist left-wing ideology...and that it is an ideology, not an idoligy (though that may be what it is called in your field )

Wiki can be a friend, but I recommend reading a few real books on political theory, and maybe some history before you go around telling people it's your field.

On the first part of this I have to entirely agree with you. Libertarians and nationalists wouldn't get along at all, since nationalists are collectivists and often protectionist economically (like the BNP), which is completely against liberty and therefore libertarianism. Similar views and aspirations. You are completely ignorant, sir.

My version of libertarianism is just that: mine, which I have developed from all of my research, consideration and experience.

That being said, I owe a huge debt to the following:-

    Thomas Jefferson
    Milton Friedman
    Robert Nozick
    Friedrich Hayek
    Murray Rothbard
    Ludwig von Mises Institute
    Frederic Bastiat
    Peter Schiff
    Geert Wilders
    Christopher Hitchens
    Daniel Hannan & Douglas Carswell
    Ayn Rand
    Rob Menard

I suggest you watch "Free to Choose", the TV series made by Friedman in 1980, then read a handful of books. It will bring you closer to understanding what liberty is all about.

Interesting to see you include Christopher Hitchens among your influences. He is certainly one of the top 'public intellectuals' of our age.
