    All those elected in May this year were mentioned in the summing up of the results by Jon Arnott at ukip.org which was replicated on this forum as the results of the elections were widely discussed here. Defectors such as Mr Reilly and Mr Pickles had articles all of their own at ukip.org which were also replicated here as their defections were widely discussed here. I clearly recall seeing an article on councillor Howard at ukip.org but as that defection happened some time ago I don't know if that was replicated here. Mr Allison is very well known within UKIP.

    ukip.org does not report the day to day activities of any of those councillors and it would be crazy for them to do so. I have no interest in most planning appliactions within Sutton Council, for example. I would hope all those councillors do communicate as appropriate with their residents. On issues of substance & wider interest ukip.org has you will recall reported now ex-UKIP councillor Malcolm Davis' campaign regarding a proposed mosgue within Dudley.

    The list omits Richard Lewis, County councillor for Gower in Swansea, for reasons too complicated to explain due to the shenanigans that constantly engulf Swansea politics he is listed as an independent.

    However he has stood for UKIP at the last two Assembly elections and I see that he is the current PPC for Swansea West.


    Which I guess qualifies him for a place on the list.

    Maybe, just maybe, some brain in UKIP's HQ could address all this nonsense! I have a list here of Richard Lewis' declarations. Membership of UKIP is one. So it is entirely plausible then for people to be elected as "Independents" and more than likely get in, than it is to go under the UKIP banner and scrap around for votes with other minority parties? We've discussed name changes before on this forum.

    Is the UKIP banner a hindrance at local level? Some have suggested Independent Democrats but I understand the Electoral Commission won't wear this. UKIP Local Democrats? or just Local Democrats?

    What do we know about Joe Callan? He was UKIP Parliamentary candidate for Cardiff West in 2005 and now is standing as a lone-UKIP candidate in the Cardiff Council elections in Whitchurch, a 4 seat Tory-dominated ward in Cardiff North. He's the only UKIP candidate in Cardiff.

    Age? Background? There's very little on him online.

    Wink Lincolnshire poachers?

    According to Anglo-Staffs, only SIX councillors got elecyed at district level. the other four were defections.

    Come these 2008 elections, the best bet for UKIP would be East Linsdey. Is there any kind of concerted effort going on?

    Both above posts are perfectly legitimate in my opinion but absolutely nothing to do with a list of current UKIP councillors so could some moderator move them if reading. An update of UKIP councillors (except for uncontested elections) should take place in the days after May 1st not before.
