"No desire to be in public office"? Didn't you run for something somewhere once and fail miserably? I have been elected since I was 21 and reelected three times. As for Mr McGough. I've never heard of him or met him, so I really couldn't care less about his thoughts or comments. If people are so politically inept as to openly criticise their own party colleagues (who, I may add, they have never even met) in a public forum, then they are people we can, frankly, do without. It is not helpful or neccessary and above all, it is ill-informed and reactionary.

Sir. I don't know how you can make that statement when you have never met me. For the record, I am just a Geordie lad from a council estate. I am in no way arrogant. I am a deeply compassionate person. Perhaps in future you should consider your position within the Party before you openly slam your colleagues in a public forum.
