Having increased taxes on oil and gas companies in an early budget - on the advice of Justine Greening, since promoted to rabbit-trapped-in-the-headlights Transport Secretary - George Osborne will now praise “remarkable” oil and gas companies for making the most “significant contribution” to the UK economy in the energy sector.
Mr Osborne will say gas is crucial to meet the UK’s electricity demand throughout the next decade and beyond.

What's missing from the report is any mention of shale. The dismal duo of Dave & George are seemingly still spurning our best chance of emulating the US and getting our economy moving again.
