Default EU is destroying Lloyds Bank

The EU has ordered Lloyds Bank to sell 632 branches at a loss.

Lloyds only bought HalifaxBank of Scotland (HBOS) to save the British banking system from collapse.

Gordon Brown encouraged this rescue and now Lloyds is being punished by the EU.

Lloyds share price droped from £6 pounds, down to just 30 pence because it saved HBOS from collapse.

JR, what is the point in saying this?

Actually what is your angle? You seem to be overly pro-EU. Are you paid by the EU? Where do you live/work?

I think his angle is that I'm pretty sure he's French and obviously therefore hates all things British. You'll no more than me from his IP address, but I always envisioned either somewhere in the Far East or the West Coast of America, because of the timings of his posts.

I presume he is French, but that is not that important. Having lived there for a few years, I never saw any anti-British feelings (save for in the then 5 Nations) and it seems that it is mainly the politicians who have a problem with the British, using us to deflect criticism of their own policies. Certainly there was a time when the press and some politicians looked to Westminster and the way that we were doing things pretty well (ie pre 1997 or maybe a few years post that). However if JR is a Eurocrat, it might explain a certain disdain that he seems to hold for us. Again it's not that important, just curious.

It's not an individual dislike of people, it is hard to hate people you meet on a personal level, unless they do something to you. It is very easy as a nation to hate another nation. The French like nothing better to get one over on us as a nation. And they'll admit it if you ask them. And, yes in answer to your question, I have asked :->

Lloyds Bank made a loss of £439 million pounds during the last 6 months to June 2012.

Taking over HBOS was a disaster for Lloyds bank, and the EU are making things worse by making Lloyds bank sell 632 branches at a loss.

Many takeovers and mergers like the above are not in the interest of the British economy.

It was my old business bank, the best bank I ever had until it merged with the TSB and them muppets just took over Lloyds and started running it clock work orange fashion, in the end I was getting bank charges that came on a scroll, I sued them and got over 6 grand back, 6 fricking grand they had quaffed over about 3 years although we went back through 5 years of records.

I rate Santander as the worlds worst bank, after Lloyds I moved to an internet account with the Alliance & Leicester, guess which muppets go and buy the Alliance and Leicester.
