    Default Who would you support?

If an African, Carribean, (half british) Mullato or Indo-Subcontiental born and bred here went up against a ( ethncially) French athlete in a sporting event such as the 100 meter running final .http://www.racingpost.com/blog/sport...injury/747289/

    The British athlete,
But to be fair watching athletes isn't really my thing

You won't find the British having much love or support for the French. But the athlete you name, is a drugs cheat, so there isn't any love for him, in fact the British banned him but the Olympic association overturned it.

If you're trying to ask the black versus white athlete question, for me it depends on the person. I like Daley Thompson, thought he was a great character and only ever viewed him as a decent person. There was a (so called) British athlete at (I think) the world championships, who won a gold in a track event. But he was originally from an African country and a Muslim one at that.

The BBC wouldn't show this bit, but once off camera, he kissed the ground doing the Muslim thing (can't remember what it is called right now) and then ran around with an African flag. In his case, I'd be happy for any European to beat him.

That may be, but it is not true for everyone. Most Subcitentals support thier ethnic homeland as opposed to their birthland in Cricket.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQNyY...d.php?t=417920 - I know some English people who do not support Amir Khan and supported the Ukrainian Klitchko against the Zimbawean born British passport holder Chisora.

Islamic oppression and sexist sharia law should not be allowed free rein in our democratic society.

One chappie born and raised in England said he'd bear arms for Serbia against this country, didn't he?

So it's not just the "Subcitentals" is it?

I often support the athlete based on my own biasses. It is healthy to be aware of them - so go Russia and all Slavs I say
