I've just had cats, who come and go as they please, and are low maintenance.
Got cats and a dog as well LTP. All rescue ones.

I agree with you about birds I do not think it is fair to enclose them, fish however are a different matter. Some fish adapt very well to aquarium life and in the wild will only have a small territory regardless of the size of the water they are in. This makes them suitable to live in an aquarium. Fish will not tolerate stress whatsoever so they would not survive in an environment that was not suitable.
There is one benefit to the aquarium hobby, it has help species that have been depleted in their natural habitat be returned by aquarium bred fish, how can that be bad?
Others such as Mbu's are treated terribly in Africa as they are a food source, in the dry seasons they can end up living in small pools and slowly drown or overheat let alone end up speared or in a net. They are being overfished and will eventually dye out in their natural habitat.

As a parent I think its really good for kids to have animals around them, it teaches them responsibility and duty and care, that said my other hobby is my allotment where I can teach them how to grow their own fruit and veg as well.

I see that you have mentioned 'allotments' now wait for LtP's response. Incidently, are vegatables (not the couch ones) racist. I reckon they are.

Had no idea about that. Recently had some Chinese wine foisted upon me. Now that stinks.

(Not quite a fish joke, but told by a Chazan with a rotten taste in jokes...)

Vicar, Imam and Rabbi have a day fishing and come home with a pretty good catch. Thing is, they're each expected to give a portion of the goodies to the poor, so how to divide their booty?

The Vicar draws a circle on the ground. "Look- we throw the fish down and keep everything that lands inside the circle. Simple!"

Imam disagrees. "No. Throw the fish at the circle and we'll have everything that lands outside. Easy!"

"You've both got no idea about these things", says the Rabbi. "God's far more proactive than that: We throw the fish up in the air, and anything we're allowed to keep for ourselves He'll send back to us!"

    Boom boom.

    I'm here all week.

Use a breadmaker, if that isn't cheating.

Missed the allotment bit due to having been at work, but it's not an automatic button pusher with me, I need a context.

I do make all my own bread. Since bread machines became very cheap about five years ago, I use one constantly. I've always loved fresh bread, and now with a constant cheap supply, could not possibly go back.
I keep an estimated 6 months supply of flour in, plus yeast to match. this has been one staple that has been easy to plan for (potatoes are another one)

It's true of course. We are all born "racial nationalists", and this perfectly healthy and natural feeling has to be constantly suppressed in order to advance our genocide and bring about the Eurasian-Negro mongrel race.

Not surprising that the noise level here has instantly risen.

Interesting to note the stuff about breeding. In any healthy European society, our men would shall we say "discourage" other subspecies from impregnating our females, "discourage" them very strongly indeed.

In our current sick society, under the cosh of "anti-waycissm", miscegenation is shoved in our faces every day, and we are supposed to pretend that we don't mind.

    Well said Mr Cheshire.
So it is the idiotic loony lefties that are in the wrong, I could have told you that maybe 30 years ago. In discussion with those same on here it is as plain as day.

Truth is routinely ignored and people normally just don't want to know.
