Thank you, had a great day at my home with family and some friends.
Care for a civil restart or not?
    Of course! Always!

Perhaps you could enlighten me as how the American people rationalise the fact that more people are and were getting killed at home than in any theatre of war since, but probably including Vietnam, you kill more of your own, than your military protagonists do and I am discounting friendly fire mishaps. Is the USA a paranoid nation, can it be trusted, has it become so aggressive and self destructive that it is a real threat to the world as a whole?
    Just asking.

Interesting question. There were 9 gun-related murders in Chicago. Over last Saturday and Sunday. 240 so far this year. 376 in 2009.

Were are a nation of just over 313 million people in a world population of 7+ billion. About 55% of the gun related deaths in America are suicides.
Yes, we love our guns and I'll tell you why. Its because we love our freedoms and an unarmed citizen is completely at the mercy of his government. Our great Constitution gave us the 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms as a safeguard against tyranny! Remember Hitler disarmed the german citizenry before he started WW2. Governments fear a well armed citizenry and that is a healthy fear as far as personal Liberty is concerned. Currently around the world governments are disarming their citizens by confiscating all firearms and results are not all that good in my opinion. Has it made your nation crime free? Or has it made home invasions more numerous and the citizens far more dependent upon the local police force? We gun owners in America would rather protect our homes ourselves not wait until after the criminal has succeeded then call police if we are left alive to do so! Open carry laws in Arizonia have greatly reduced crime and gun related deaths there as well. A criminal looks for an easy score, unarmed people are always considered an easier score by the average criminal here. The average criminal here will have a gun regardless of any law restricting or banning guns. In short , we are a nation of armed citizens and we really do not care what the rest of the world thinks about it. In my opinion , a few too many gun related crimes is a small price to pay for our individual freedoms and ability to defend our families ourselves without having to kiss the big central government's ass to do so ! I sleep secure at night with my doors securely locked and my guns loaded . Anybody breaking into my home endangering my family will be shot dead if I see any weapon in their hands.. I'm 58 years old, never been robbed at home or out in public. As a wild young man I ran with a dangerous crowd but never even carried so much as a pocketknife for my defense back in the 60's / 70's. -Tyr

Sure, our military threatens the world. Thats why you guys can sit there in relative security while our military keeps the wolves at bay.
You can either thank us for spending blood , sweat ,tears and vast amounts of treasure doing that or **** and moan about how barbaric we are and how insensitive we are to dictators and other vermin around the world. Your call.-Tyr

    For 2009 (USA), it was 9,146, (2010) 8,775 firearms murders, and for 2011, 9,369.

Countries such as S. Africa (more than 3 times as bad), Columbia (over 21,000) and even Thailand dwarf these.

The figures I quoted were crimes of violence, not including suicides, accidents, etc.

So that precludes any discussion on the topic. I doubt Trayvon Martin would agree.

What a crock. You've bombed 39 countries since 1945. Arrogance is one thing, but when it's accompanied by those twin evils of ignorance and a lack of capacity to rectify it, it becomes grating. There is fcuk all that the USA does to improve my "relative security", in fact the opposite is true. Thanks to the foreign policy of that shaved imbecilic monkey that infected the White House prior to Pres. Obama, and the spinelessness of that traitor Blair, we had 7th July ("7/7") here as a direct result of the invasion of Iraq. "...Keeps wolves at bay.."? Since when were you doing that? You've brought them to our back garden. Pity you didn't join us in 1939 to keep the Nazi wolves at bay in Europe, but then probably no-one knew where it was. We kept Hitler in check until you joined in in 1942 - half way through - then took all the credit.

Why should we thank you for creating a direct threat to our national security? Treasure? You mean like the oil you plundered from Iraq? Like the anarchy and chaos you left in the wake of Hussein's departure, where the hospitals were looted? You elect a certified moron as president, then squeal when he pi$$es $1.1 trillion down the drain invading a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. As someone pointed out, Halliburton (Prop. Dick Cheney) provided the meals to 'in-country' (army) personnel - at $16.40 a plate - it would have been cheaper to dine them at the Holiday Inn.

Oh, and by the way, when using Predator drones, it might pay to try and hit terrorists, rather than perfectly innocent wedding parties. That will only swell the ranks of Al-Qaeda.
