Default I’m a victim of prejudice says sacked BNP bouncer.

A prominent member of the British National Party has complained of being a victim of discrimination after saying he lost his job at a gay nightclub when bosses found out about his political beliefs....

British people with the wrong beliefs are always discriminated against. It's been going on for decades. Look at Enoch Powell.

I find gay men in particular to be fundamentally rather materialistic and "right wing". They are not great supporters of environmentalism and ecological concerns.

How (or why) you find gay men is of no concern to us!

I cannot, of course, speak to how many gay men you've known or know. I can only say that this is not my experience, even remotely.

As for the quoted article, it is worth pointing out that this is only one side of the story and the gentleman concerned seems to spend rather more of it complaining about his step-sister. So I shall reserve judgement.

The Orr family most certainly have the "wrong beliefs". Is this man not the son of a BNP candidate who is married to a Chinawoman? Has he not sheltered behind that unfortunate fact in the past to defend himself from accusations of racism?

What a sorry state of affairs.

What point could any BNP member be trying to make who would use his father's Chinese bride as defence? Strange.

Surprising you would say this. In my observation it is more than an accepted stereotype that gay men like to live flamboyant and materialist lifestyles, are superficial in their personality and that they do not really apply themselves to helping anyone when it doesn't serve themselves in some way they are really concerned with personal freedoms in society - which usually means people feeling they should have the right to be inconsiderate to others. Not saying there can't be some who buck the trend.

Stereotyping people - or more accurately judging a few at face value and then labeling all with those face value judgments - is dangerous.

I don't wish to derail a thread I have only a passing interest in, but as I said - that is not my experience at all.

I totally agree with your observation about gays and for any "Nationalist" to work in a gay environment such as a gay nightclub/pub is really asking for trouble and I sadly talk from personal experience.
