Victims sprayed with liquid in 'racist' attacks in Gloucester

So...let me get this straight...

Someone reads a post about a liquid being sprayed on people and concludes that it must have been water...

That same person has a fluid sprayed at them and wonders whether it was urine, dye or acid...

Why so sure it was a totally harmless fluid in the one case, but sure it must have been something nasty in the other?

It reminds me of a couple of photos taken during the Katrina aftermath in New Orleans that featured on US news programs.

One was of a white couple seen struggling through the flood waters carrying bottles of water and who were described as 'survivors'.

The other was of a black couple doing exactly the same thing but they were described as 'looters'.

Nothing was said during the reports that supported the descriptions.

Perception is all; reality is meaningless?

What I was doing was demonstrating how one's perspective affects one's perception of reality.

'Believed to be' indicates that there is a measure of uncertainty about the identity of the fluid.

Or when they wish to create the impression there is some uncertainty to justify unreasonable resources being put into what was nothing more than anti social behaviopur of which Mussslims were the recipients.

It's rather like when the police use the term when they say they're looking for someone 'believed to be in their late 30s'.
They're not dead certain.

No, not the least bit like that; its very difficult to guess a persons age precisely, but in this case it is almost certain the liquid wa snon noxious since the victims suffered NO PHYSICAL EFFECTS unless of course the the shooters had some fiendish plan and had infected the water with Legionnaires disease or similar.

I have no doubt it was water, but only when that fluid is analysed in a laboratory can we be 100% as to its identity.

As for my detective skills, I saw nothing in your post to indicate that you were being ironic - it sounded exactly like your usual irrational and bigoted posts elsewhere on this forum.

Then I shall point you to a clue, it lies in the description 'naughty'; not that the use of irony demands any particular clues, and I suggets that your failure to see it was another example of your usual bigotted stereotyping of the psters who you mainly
disagree with. In other words you assumed I thought that because the boys were black it was more likely that they would be shooting some noxious substance than that it would be water; not at all, my only assumption at the time was that it was water, though with hindsight I realise it may have been something nastier, though probably not dangerous.
