Any old iron
Perhaps somebody with better knowledge, or a more suggestible mind, could enlighten me as to how Coventry BNP's scrap metal collection initiative will in any way "tackle the problem of metal theft", as claimed in a recent article on the BNP web site?
As an initiative for raising funds the scheme is admirable, though some might feel it invites our opponents' ridicule for the BNP becoming the "Steptoe and Son" party.
I really do not see how this scheme can in any way tackle any metal theft problem occurring in Coventry or elsewhere - indeed, since it puts itself in direct competition with those who make honest livings as collectors of scrap metal, and therefore takes pounds from their pockets, one can see how the problem of metal theft may actually be exacerbated.
Is there somebody who can explain to me the thinking that leads the originators of this scheme to claim with any honesty that it tackles metal theft in any practical way?
