    Default Are we anti-Europe or anti-EU ?

    Europe
It is my opinion that people now call the EU the shortened name of Europe now on the TV.

    Eg

1/ This regulation came from Europe
    2/ Immigration from Europe
    3/ The crisis in Europe
4/ We dont want to be governed by Europe
5/ In Europe but not governed by Europe
6/ Europe is the word that the TV now uses

People know what Europe is, but no-one even me understands what the EU is all about.
When you say the word European Union there is a switch that clicks off and people lose interest.
But of you say Britain is being threatened by laws from Europe evey one understatnds.

The threat from Europe is real, just look at the history of these islands.
    The Roman Empire
    The Viking invasions
    Viking rule in Britain
    William the Conquerer 1066
    Hitler
    The Kaiser
    Napoleon
    The Spanish Armada
    100 year war with France
Admial Lord Nelson fought the French

Fear of Europe is in our bones and in our gutts.
The English have an instinctive fear of Europe.
And rightly so we have fought wars against Europe all through our history

    Being anti-EU is interlectual
    Being anti-Europe is emotional

It could make a big difference to the charisma of our leaflets.

Not in my name, as they say.
A well-justified contempt for the EU project and EU politicians, maybe, but certainly not fear of Europe.

    Being anti-EU is interlectual

Love it, funniest thing I've read so far today.

Being anti-EU is intellectual. Thank you for that correction. But you missed my main point.

Being afraid of the invader from Europe has been in our blood for over 2000 years.

BRITAIN HAS EVERY REASON TO FEAR EUROPE

Would have been born free under the Roman Empire occupation of Britain and national slavery.

Would you have been born free when the Vikings ruled Britain, with their motto rape and pillage.

Would you have been born free when William the Conquerer ruled Britain, when he treated the British worse than cattle, and his noblemen raped English brides on their wedding night, by right of law.

Would you have been born free it the Spanish Armarda had defeated Drake.

Would you have been born free if the French had defeated Admiral Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Would you have been born free if Napoleon had defeated Wellington at the battle of Waterloo.

Would you have been born free if the Kaiser had won World War I.

Would you have been born free if we had lost the Battle of Britain.

Would you have been born free if Hitler had won World War II.

Would you have been born free if Stalin had imposed Communism across the whole of Europe.

Britain has spent the last 2000 years fighting off European domination, and the British rightly have a fear of the invader from Europe.

No, being able to spell "intellectual" is intellectual. :P

Seriously, The Eu and Islam form the single biggest threat to our freedom and sovereignty, and right of self determination, since Napoleon. And Angela Merkel, specifically, is more of a threat to us then Hitler was.

Islamic oppression and sexist sharia law should not be allowed free rein in our democratic society.

I would say we are anti-EU, we have always had close relationships with other european countries anyway so for anyone to call a English person who disagrees with the EU as a little englander is false and untrue.

Utterly lunacy I am afraid SDP. To re-brand the anti-EU movement as anti-European would be an absolute disaster.

I have absolutely no reason to fear geographical continents of separate nations. I am scared ****less of what people might do, especially ones I didn't elect into office.

A European Union is a splendid idea. The European Union is an abomination of the purest evil, that must not just be opposed, but dismantled. And soon, before it creates any more poverty and damage.
