They're telling you pakistani grooming gangs is a mjaor problem, and showing you numbers that show thehy only account for 0.3% of the offenders.....

And beyond yours too, it's 3.7% Pakistani not 0.3%.

It does not seem to me that people are discussing this case with a care for the victims, but rather using it as a stick to beat Pakistanis and Muslims with.

No doubt the answer will be that they believe they are raising the awareness of the threat so that future generations might be spared. This is hogwash. If people are using information like ammunition then it is not a case of awareness.

Personally, I'm just commenting on the BBC report which is of poor standard and doesn't enable any conclusions to be drawn.

Amusing how the 'System' which is responsible for proper due care and welfare of these young girls appears to be distancing itself from the major shortfalls and gross negligence within the care institution while the idiotic islamophobic press is distracted by the real problematic issues in this respect. Along with criminal nuts involved in this crime, the parents of the respective victims and the 'care guardians' should bear the brunt of this criminal act.

Well you are focussing purely on the pakistani element. As far as I can see, whilst some posters may use the term "****" in a pejorative way, the underlying concern is actually about muslims committing these grooming offences, not their country of origin.

The BBC figures have so much left out (eg what % of the 28% asians are muslim) that it makes drawing any real conclusions impossible.

And as I have said several times previously, given that 38% of the offenders are described as "unknown", does make me wonder why they don't know. The offenders' country of origin must have been recorded at the time of the offence, so the fact that the information is not available now seems odd, to say the least. How many of that 38% were also muslim? We don't know but it could be significant.
