How does immigration erode British culture?

Have you ever thought that if immigration didn't cause culture change Africans would still be running around in grass skirts and consulting witch doctors while you lot would still be wondering what that black sticky stuff oozing out of the ground was and riding around on camels?

A couple of little points. White people are indeed 'allowed' to play black music, but why should 'black' music have its own special supportive network , elevating its status, that 'white music doesnt'? Why not have a 'white music' award where black guitar bands etc are 'allowed' to enter?
Why isnt 'white pride' encouraged and supported as 'black pride' is? Why arent ethnci British people provided with funding for their own community centres, social clubs, old folks lunch clubs. sports clubs etc? Why should that be seen as 'racist' when all ethnci minorites have
these things?

We are expected to share ALL our culture and 'embrace' minorities while they are allowed their exclusive (in practice) 'racist' retreats!!!

Of course immigrants have adopted British culture, ask any 2nd generation immigrant. WHen they go back to their parents country, they are called British because their identtity is heavily influenced bye the country they grew up in.

Name the British traditions that immigrants do not take part in, yes they have traditions of their parents but thats like everybody. White British people do not all have the same traditions/culture.

White people are not excluded from taking part in immigrant culture...if they want to, its not foced on anybody. If it was then I agree that would be a problem

I thought the subject of the thread was British culture? I don't know why you are being so obtuse and trying to pretend that mass immigration doesn't affect British culture. Of course it does. Every time someone buys an Indian meal, a small part of British culture has been replaced with Indian culture. Every time a mosque is built,be it on the previous site of a shop,pub or cinema a small part of British culture, has been replaced by Muslim culture. And the more immigrants we have,the more it happens.

Go and look at Southall for God's sake. Over the years British culture has been almost erased in places like that,never mind eroded.

You can deny it all you like but that is the truth.If you'd be quite happy living there,then move. We don't want to move to Southall and we don't want Southall to move to us.

It is not just a matter of time, a White Australian living in Australia will never become a Aboriginal no matter how long, how many Generations they liv there, they will NEVER become Black Aboriginals, same with White People living in Hawaii, it doesn't matter how long they liv there and how many generations they liv there they will NEVER become Polynesians.

Southall has the only railway station in the British Isles in which the station signs are in a foreign language (Punjabi, I believe). Not many people know that.

I dont remember having to bend over for anyone. Be honest what could you have done if all the immigrants suddenly disappeared tomorrow? How would your life suddenly improve?

If the flood of immigrants (Both legal and illegal) disappeared it probably would not have a direct affect on my life but I suspect it may have an affect on the lives of many others who have spent a lifetime paying tax and NI.

Since about 2003/4 we have officially been forced to accept about 2 million immigrants (The government admit they have no idea how many immigrants are really in this country) The pressure this puts on public services is imense, the NHS spends £millions on translation services, thats before we even get into health tourism. I listened to a headteacher from a school in Birmingham who said the kids at her school speak 39 different languages, she said the teachers have developed a sign language to communicate with the kids! I thought that was ridiculus but I've discovered that in London 39 different languages at one school is something of a luxury. At least four Chief Constables have asked the Home Secretary for more funds to help cope with an 'immigrant crimewave' not to mention the cost of 'Op Trident'.

How anyone can think immigration has anything other than a negetive effect is quite baffling. The silent majority have without doubt been successefully browbeaten into submission by myopic leftwing politicians and self appointed standard bearers for any minority with an axe to grind.

The thing is that many people don't only consider the negative effects in the way in which you do. I'm not saying the negative effects don't exist, I'm saying they are simply one piece of the jigsaw.

GIven that some 80% of the popualtion (and bear in mind that includes immigrants and ethnic minorities) want to halt, or strictly limit immigration, it seems the 'silent majority' are rather closer in their views to Red, than to you Csgt!
