Default How does immigration erode British culture?

    I've always wondered this.

How can such a small minority of people, erode the traditional British culture?

Why do the "indigenous" people feel their way of life is being changed because of immigration?

Can anyone help me understand this?

A principal means by which traditional British culture has been eroded is through having to accommodate the preferences and sensitivities of incomers in the interest of 'inclusivity'. Aside from the strictly cultural aspects - for example, the very popular 1970s comedy series 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum' could never be made now, let alone broadcast - there is the general effect of various legislations in stifling public discourse. There is also the matter of what is taught in schools today, which is a far cry from what used to be taught, the National Curriculum having been designed to reflect the needs and interests of what the politicians take to be a multicultural British society. Slavery, for example, and the evils of Empire loom large in the History lessons.

But why is indigenous placed in inverted commas? Is there some question whether indigenous British people actually exist?

    Small Minority?

There are more Non-White children in London than White, certainly more than British White Children and there are many more cities like this in the UK.

Small Minority? I suppose the Whites wer a "Small Minority" in America once, and in Australia, no, these people never change those countries Cultures.

I can see how incomers would influence the domestic culture, but how can that that be to the extent where it erodes the domestic culture if the majority do not adopt the influences?

I have a child in school now, why would you not want children to learn about Britains leading role in abolishing slavery? Surely that's something to be proud about?

Indigenous, because are both a 3rd gen white Italian and a 3rd gen black Nigerian indigenous?

Non whites are not the majority in London, but even if they were, I was talking about the British culture, where white people are definitely the large majority

Australia and America were colonised, the UK is not a colony.

The point is that they don't learn that we took a leading role in aboilishing slavery. They only learn we were conquering and enslaving. They never learn of the gifts we gave to the colonies, only what we took from them.

As to a small minority affecting all, look how it works with immigrants. Many came here "fleeing persecution." They then plead they are a minority being treated as second class citizens and claim they are therefore our victims. Thus they get special privileges and quotas such as unfair share of housing.
