The other poll whilst aiming in the right direction didn't seem quite right as most of the options were about reform and none about abolition. Also, unlike the other, this is an anon poll so all votes are private.

Somehow or other I'm in the trusted member category so I've certainly not created the poll for the purpose of maintaining any privileged status I supposedly have. If anything I've created it because I've wanted to send PM messages to at least 1 of the newer forum members and the new system has prevented me from doing so. Some privilege there!

The newer forum member may have opted to not receive PMs.

Not sure that there have been any changes to PMs, so Matron might be right.

It's in the Settings .. there are lots of choices you can make, and refusing PM's is one of them.

There is nothing wrong with it as it is.

The ones whinging are the ones who are causing their own unpopularity by being idiots, making threads up entirely, or just coppy any paste like banana and alemonkey.

Maybe as a Trusted Member you did not make this poll to maintain privilege but it could possibly be to split the vote and weaken the impact.

As for PM's, if it is me you are calling a newer member you didn't send me one but considering you joined in 2005 I expect you could have sent it to almost anyone on here as most are newer than you.

I notice also that no mod has popped in to ask you to 'pipe down'.

Speaking of mods, you obviously missed this:

So could a mod please add this option to the poll?

    'Abolish rep system completely.'

Boy, you don't half moan a lot. For someone who professes to not care about the rep system, it seems to be one of your favourite topics. It's very boring. Have you talked to the forum owner about your "concerns"?

If it was just moaning, you would have a point and people would just ignore me.

But it is not and they don't.

If it is boring, don't read it. Nobody makes anyone read my posts or even reply to them. You don't see me running around telling people how boring I think they are, whether true or false, because.....well it would just be boring.

Did you insert that option into my poll by the way? And did you find out how people become Trusted Members?

I've pm'ed the owner in the past without so much as an acknowledgement. I've bumped a question in regard to Trusted Members in a thread started by the owner several times with the same result. To be honest I don't get bored easy but trying to get answers from admin is boring, and obviously futile.

But you do think that the rep system is a waste of time though don't you. You have stated as much, but then you want it all changed. The two positions you take are a little confusing. Tell you what, have some pos rep to keep you happy.
