Default How can we stop climate change?

My idea would be to put a big thermostat on the sun. What are your ideas?

Short pulses from Earth's rocket propulsion will place it in a wider orbit, reducing solar heating. A closer orbit will follow in the next little ice age.

Tax the Sun based on solar output. The explosion of the Sun in 4 billion years will cause catastrophic climate change, we must act now.

The tax should bring on investment in cooling rods. Chemical elements with a sufficiently high capture cross section for neutrons include silver, indium and cadmium. Other elements that can be used include boron, cobalt, hafnium, dysprosium, gadolinium, samarium, erbium, and europium, or their alloys and compounds, e.g. high-boron steel, silver-indium-cadmium alloy, boron carbide, zirconium diboride, titanium diboride, hafnium diboride, gadolinium titanate, and dysprosium titanate.

This would also cause production in the third world (where most of the resources are probably found) combating global poverty by sending children to mine them for 10p a day. Most of the above mentioned resources sound very dangerous thus creating a high youth mortality rate combating global over population. Killing two birds with one stone it's a no brainer.

No I wouldn't use stone. Go with the proven materials.

Are you suggesting we make big cooling rods and fire them into the sun using solar powered rockets. What a great idea.

I think we should hire King Canute to stop climate change .. Didn't he have a go at stopping 'sea level rise' some time ago. How did he get on ?
Temperatures may go down as well as up terms and conditions apply.

    Actually. actually.
He was proving man's inability to withstand the elements and fate. Being a Viking lad and that. He knew the little ice age was coming but did they listen?
