It's not based on opinion polls but who wins seats at elections.

Similarly, their % support relative to the entire UK electorate, is insignificant. Therefore a Referendum on separation should not even be permitted.
Well it would be. It's a small country. However, the majority of people in England want them to leave so by your rationale that permits it.

    Hi Northumbrian,

The 22% quoted was actual votes, not an opinion poll. Which illustrates that there is no mandate for a break up of Britain.

Power is vested in Westminster and any devolution could be restricted to Scots, English, Welsh or Irish MP`s restricting their respective votes to their reserved matters, without the need for separate Assemblies.

However the remit for this, is currently vested in malcontents who are abusing their powers, by clamouring for a destructive separation agenda, with no consideration of their responsibilities to the Home Nations.

The separatists indulge themselves with an ill conceived anti British hubris!
They should reflect on the reality that, the Union has provided stability and prosperity for 300 years to this Island.

Unionists of each Home Nation should be proud that we have the Mother of Parliaments and a country respected in the world.

I bet the % who want to abolish the Scottish Parliament is well under 20% now.

I'm not proud because I'm English and don't have a parliament.

I take it this is yet another BNP splinter group seeing as Charles used to be a Scottish official for the BNP. Quite astonishing how many Nationalist parties there are now hoping to supplant the BNP. Good luck anyway and i'll go and peruse the website.

    So why is nationality relevant?

Separatists in Scotland represent only 22% of the total electorate.
Those voting for parties wishing to leave the EU, represent far less than 22% of the UK electorate, in fact they represent less than 2.2% of the UK electorate.

Similarly, their % support relative to the entire UK electorate, is insignificant. Therefore a Referendum on separation should not even be permitted.
Similarly, the support of parties wishing the UK to leave the EU, as a percentage of the total population of the EU, is insignificant. Therefore, a referendum on the UK leaving the EU should never be permitted.

Britannica supports the Union, the Monarchy, British culture, values and people.
As do most other parties ...
