Nationalism versus Capitalism
Are they not the same thing? No they are not! They are usually opposed philosophical systems.
I will put forward a few concepts:
I believe in a free press, a free market, the right of the ordinary citizen to own his house, car etc. The right to employment, benefits where there is TEMPORARY unemployment ( and if there is permanant unemployment is it that there is victimization of the individual ), decent pensions at a sensible age. The right to be protected by the Police and the right of access to the Law whatever ones income ( or lack of it. ) The right ( unless one chooses otherwise ) to live in ones own country where the majority of the people are genetically and culturally related to you and where you do not, over a number of years, find yourself in an ethnic minority. The right to representative democracy were the people representing you are truly concerned with JUSTICE and your probems and not a bunch of play actors from privileged Oxbridge backgrounds and ( apart from election time ) carrying out the orders of their masters.
Capitalism does not supply these - quite the converse, I will explain how and why in an other posting.
