This is just another thread of a long list of threads where you have expressed in detail your dismay with UKIP.

Without going into any detail, I disagree with your assessment on UKIP.
Well you are either very very close to the heart of UKIP and know something we all don't or you are very very misguided.

I think to be fair to Kris he is loyal to the party he supports and just does not agree with how you see things or the slightly more pesimistic view I take, I certainly share your view and not his that UKIP are miles away from winning any Westminister Seats, i dont think that is all down to poor planning and leadership, I think the system is against them and to break through against the establishment is tough.

I think people put things into neat compartments when they vote, at the EU elections, people dont like the EU so express their frustration and show it by voting UKIP.

At a General Election or local one, public services and economics hold centre stage, thus UKIP's vote drops.

The Greens have an MP for Brighton so why haven't UKIP at least one MP somewhere?

Let me finally remind you that in every seat the great leader of UKIP has stood he has not come close to winning and at the General Election he came THIRD in Buckingham losing second place to an Independent.

It is NOT the systems fault it is UKIP's.

Because UKIP support is spread right across the UK.

Please note, the Greens have been around a lot longer than UKIP!

Remember, it took the SNP 76 years to get a majority in Scotland!

Because most/many of us know the situation and agree, however it is a bloody depressing situation. And I'm of the opinion, that if I don't have a solution, then there is little point in pontificating about something. Of course, there is one solution, change the leader and get someone who is focussed on winning Westminster seats and less so on his/her MEP salary and allowances.

Fair enough and I understand your point of view but if we all just roll over and give up then evil will triumph over good.

And this is just another in a long list of posts where your answer to a sophisticated and developed argument is "I disagree". "Without going into detail...?"; that looks as though you have no answer. This is, after all, what the forum is for, no?

The Greens did show how it could be done by careful targeting and building of support, they have more releavance that UKIP at a local level, the system does hold UKIP back but I agree there are failures at top level as well.
