Unfortunately someone didn't like the free speech (there was some criticism that Roberta Moore and her friends appeared to be trying to take over the EDL) and it was shut down overnight by Trevor Kelway.

The forum was opened up and initially they were demanding £30 a year to be a member. Which is ridiculous, admin/mods don't get paid, so why was there a cost? It's things like this and the teaming up with the political party that can't be named that has angered members. I have nothing against that political party, but I decide which party I support, I don't need anyone to do it for me, and that appears to be the view of many other members. I'm also fairly sure that Simon Bennett is running the new forum and it appears to be more of a money making machine than a place where you can get up to date accurate news of the EDL in a sensible environment (unlike the madness that is called Facebook).

Before I bother to make a lengthy reply, you do realise that Tommy Robinson (loosely known as leader of the EDL) isn't the Tommy Robinson of Luton football hooligan fame. Not the author of Luton MIGs, to which you refer.

The current TR, just used it as a pseudonym, which he adopted in late 2009.

Like many others, you know very little about the EDL and show great ignorance. Go away, do some research and then come back. Quite frankly I'm fed up with people judging the organisation who really know nothing about it.

Stephen Lennon my not by the Tommy Robinson,but he was part of the MIG firm.The M.I.G. didn't just focus on football violence but targeted Asains and in 2001 the police had to warn the Asian shopkeepers and householders that they may be targeted by the football "firm".

Ther EDL leader has been convicted of football related violence. Regardless of which "firm" they belong to.
