I agree that unity is needed, and indeed this was a major topic for discussion at an event I was on outside the Argentinian Embassy last month. Interestingly enough, many different English political parties and pressure groups all talk with each other and agree on some matters and agree to disagree on others.

The problem seems to be that every time there is an attempt at some time of cross-party co-operation, the egos at the top of the ED have to go on about how they are the 'biggest nationalist party' and have to have headline billing for everything and take control of it, rather than work together as equals.

Let us look at the behaviour over the last 18 months -

The EPP help out the ED Havering candidate in the GLA with leafletting - Uncles posts on his blog how the EPP held their AGM in a telephone box, and then makes further attacks which were replied to by Vortex on the 'Message to Steve Uncles' thread on this forum.

Tilbrook tells me that the EDL are run by Irish Republican sympathisers and are channelling money made on merchandise sales to SF and the IRA - His source for this is none other than Nick Lowles of Searchlight. This slagging off came a few months after he asked me what I knew of Alan Lake,and if I could put him in touch.

David Lane tried to organise a 'unity' meeting in December 2010 with various groups, and told the NC at their meeting that month that no-one responded and that they were all hopeless. I was informed by certain other people who were supposed to be in attendence that they would not share a room with Uncles.

I have seen an email from John Botting to Tilbrook proposing a measure of co-operation between OE and the ED in areas where they are not standing against each other. Tilbrook's reply is churlish and discounts other EN's who are proposing co-operation, saying that only the ED are capable of doing anything.

Uncles continuing attacks on other EN groups on his English Passport blog, and his obsession with posting rubbish about all things UKIP.

Tilbrook has issued legal proceedings against a member of the CEP for 'defamation of character' because he paraphrased an ED slogan on a blog post


So there you have it,Millenium 3. The people who are stopping co-operation and running the whole thing like their own personal ego trip are not the rest of the EN movement, but the main benefactors of the ED themselves. I would suggest that the biggest hindrance to English Unity and the main bar to getting an English Parliament are the ED themselves, especially with their newly converted members who have the kind of baggage that is manna from heaven to a journo on a quiet news day.

I am not really defending the EDs, I am sure there are faults all round - however, I am pretty certain that the nonsense that goes on in this thread is not helping the cause.
