1/ Full Employment is good for the Working Class
To achieve full employment Britain requires a prosperous industry, and also there needs to be restrictions on immigration into Britain.
2/ Mass Uncontrolled immigration is bad for the Working Class
Since 2004 the average rate of new settlement into Britain has been 575,000 a year. This is more than on a minute arriving day and night for the last 7 years. This is happening because all 500 million EU citizens have the legal right to live and work in Britain.
3/ Cheap Houses are good for the Working Class
The working class need cheap houses to buy, and readily available council houses to rent.
4/ A Poor Education System is bad for the Working Class
The destruction of grammar schools and secondary modern schools was bad for the working class. Comprehensive Education has been bad for the working class and has halted social mobility.
5/ Lack of School Discipline is bad for the Working Class
The teachers have lost control of the classrooms. Discipline is very poor these days in schools, and this has been bad for the working class.
6/ Loss of Law and Order is bad for the Working Class
The working class want to be able to walk the streets in safety, but the recent riots in Britain show that the police are losing control of the streets to gangs and muggers.
7/ Militant Trade Unions are bad for the Working Class
If the unions put for wages and conditions that bankrupt their employers this is bad for the working class.
8/ Interest Rates at Half a Percent are bad for the Working Class
People who have saved for their retirement deserve a decent rate of return on their savings. Interest rates at half of one percent mean that savers have a negative interest rate after inflation and this is bad for the working class.
9/ A High Level of Imports is bad for the Working Class
A government that gives all its biggest contracts to Germany, and only offers crumbs from the table to companies like Bombardier is bad for the working class.
10/ Building on the Green Belt is bad for the Working Class
Britain is the most beautiful country in the world. Concreting over our beautiful countryside to build houses for immigrants is bad for the working class. We don’t want to live in a concrete jungle like New York.
11/ Casino Banking is bad for the Working Class
Retail banking serves a useful purpose of keeping deposits safe lending money to people that want to buy cars and houses, also providing finance to business and industry. Casino banking has destroyed many banks and also the economies of the countries that have had to bailout those casino banks. This has led to a world recession and has been bad for the working class.
12/ Privatisation has often been bad for the Working Class
The privatisation of the railways led to a rise in accidents Rail Track was eventually brought back into public ownership. Privatisation of water, gas and electricity has led to massive price rises and has been bad for the working class.
13/ Privatising Rover Cars was bad for the Working Class
At one time this group made a third of the cars made in Britain. It was privatised and then shut down with the loss of thousands of jobs.
14/ A Government Budget Deficit is bad for the Working Class
This coalition is borrowing 2 billion pounds a week just to balance the books. This will have to be repaid by future generations so will be bad for future working class children who have to pay this money back.
15/ A Huge Balance of Payments deficit is bad for the Working Class
John Maynard Keynes predicted that countries which permanently run trade deficits would stay permanently in recession. Imports mean that the jobs have gone abroad. Had those goods been made in Britain, they would have created jobs in Britain.
16/ Balanced Trade is good for the Working Class
For maximum employment and maximum world trade Britain’s Balance of Payments should be kept in reasonable balance. This means that Britain should try to avoid having massive trade deficits, and also avoid having massive trade surpluses.
17/ Unnecessary Union Strikes are bad for the Working Class
Arthur Scargill damaged the mining industry. Red Robo damaged the motor industry. Wildcat strikes damage Britain’s business reputation. School teachers damaging children’s education through strikes in order to improve their very good pension scheme is bad for the working class.
18/ Gordon Brown’s destruction of Company Pensions was bad for the Working Class
In 1997 as his first act as Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown increased the tax paid by Company Final Salary Pension Schemes. As a direct result of that tax increase 90% of those schemes are now closed to new members. The destruction of these company pension schemes by Gordon Brown was bad for the working class.
19/ Thatcher’s destruction of industry was bad for the Working Class
Margaret Thatcher’s monetarism experiment closed many British factories and allowed those jobs to be moved abroad. Britain then relied too heavily on financial services and this left Britain vulnerable to the financial crises of 2008. The loss of those manufacturing jobs means that Britain now runs a permanent trade deficit which is funded by more government borrowing.
20/ Britain being Soft on Crime is bad for the Working Class
Criminals just laugh when they are sent to prison, because it is such a soft option. Many criminals also refuse to pay their fines, and there is nothing the Criminal Justice System can do. Violent crimes and the number of murders are rising and this is bad for the working class who are usually the victims of those crimes.
