What is the point of approving products if it does not mean anything. Therefore the government should pay the 100 million pounds to replace these substandard implants.

There should also be compensation paid to the women who were misled by poor British government advice.

The fat bloated civil servant who approved these implants should be prosecuted for criminal negligence, and hopefully get a long prison sentence.

If I had personally ruined the lives of 40,000 women, then I would expect a substantial prison sentence, as a warning to others not to damage women's health in future.
The government should not pay any taxpayers cash to anyone unless, maybe, the implant was done for medical reasons.

Why exactly do you think that the UK taxpayer should pay rather than the French company that developed the implant?

The cost of replacing these substandard PIP breast implants will be about 100 million pounds here in Britain. But they were sold all over the world, so the final figure will be enormous maybe even ten times that figure.

The were distributed under European Union Single Market rules, and were given the EU's CE quality mark. The CE quality mark from the EU allows products to move around the single market with almost complete immunity from further checks from the national governments.

As Britain is signed up to the rules of the EU Single Market these substandard PIP breast implants would have come into Britain and approved virtually automatically.

Now when the EU is involved the Euro/Lib/Lab/Con stand shoulder to shoulder and block criticism and discussion. This is why there has been no-one standing up for these frightened women in the British parliament.

There is no-one to speak for the working class in the British parliament.

Are you actually claiming that fake boobs is a class issue?

If a car, freezer or bottle of shampoo is faulty the manufacturer is expected to, and does, recall it exchange it and compensate.

As a taxpayer I do not expect my money to be spent putting these things right.

If you are honestly concerned then put your money where your mouth is and start up a fund, that way those who want to help pay have that choice.

I have to say that I thought the SDP may have been on the move and getting your act together.
    Ooops!

1/ Full Employment is good for the Working Class
To achieve full employment Britain requires a prosperous industry, and also there needs to be restrictions on immigration into Britain.

2/ Mass Uncontrolled immigration is bad for the Working Class
Since 2004 the average rate of new settlement into Britain has been 575,000 a year. This is more than on a minute arriving day and night for the last 7 years. This is happening because all 500 million EU citizens have the legal right to live and work in Britain.

3/ Cheap Houses are good for the Working Class
The working class need cheap houses to buy, and readily available council houses to rent.

4/ A Poor Education System is bad for the Working Class
The destruction of grammar schools and secondary modern schools was bad for the working class. Comprehensive Education has been bad for the working class and has halted social mobility.

5/ Lack of School Discipline is bad for the Working Class
The teachers have lost control of the classrooms. Discipline is very poor these days in schools, and this has been bad for the working class.

6/ Loss of Law and Order is bad for the Working Class
The working class want to be able to walk the streets in safety, but the recent riots in Britain show that the police are losing control of the streets to gangs and muggers.

7/ Militant Trade Unions are bad for the Working Class
If the unions put for wages and conditions that bankrupt their employers this is bad for the working class.

8/ Interest Rates at Half a Percent are bad for the Working Class
People who have saved for their retirement deserve a decent rate of return on their savings. Interest rates at half of one percent mean that savers have a negative interest rate after inflation and this is bad for the working class.

9/ A High Level of Imports is bad for the Working Class
A government that gives all its biggest contracts to Germany, and only offers crumbs from the table to companies like Bombardier is bad for the working class.

10/ Building on the Green Belt is bad for the Working Class
Britain is the most beautiful country in the world. Concreting over our beautiful countryside to build houses for immigrants is bad for the working class. We don’t want to live in a concrete jungle like New York.

11/ Casino Banking is bad for the Working Class
Retail banking serves a useful purpose of keeping deposits safe lending money to people that want to buy cars and houses, also providing finance to business and industry. Casino banking has destroyed many banks and also the economies of the countries that have had to bailout those casino banks. This has led to a world recession and has been bad for the working class.

12/ Privatisation has often been bad for the Working Class
The privatisation of the railways led to a rise in accidents Rail Track was eventually brought back into public ownership. Privatisation of water, gas and electricity has led to massive price rises and has been bad for the working class.

13/ Privatising Rover Cars was bad for the Working Class
At one time this group made a third of the cars made in Britain. It was privatised and then shut down with the loss of thousands of jobs.

14/ A Government Budget Deficit is bad for the Working Class
This coalition is borrowing 2 billion pounds a week just to balance the books. This will have to be repaid by future generations so will be bad for future working class children who have to pay this money back.

15/ A Huge Balance of Payments deficit is bad for the Working Class
John Maynard Keynes predicted that countries which permanently run trade deficits would stay permanently in recession. Imports mean that the jobs have gone abroad. Had those goods been made in Britain, they would have created jobs in Britain.

16/ Balanced Trade is good for the Working Class
For maximum employment and maximum world trade Britain’s Balance of Payments should be kept in reasonable balance. This means that Britain should try to avoid having massive trade deficits, and also avoid having massive trade surpluses.

17/ Unnecessary Union Strikes are bad for the Working Class
Arthur Scargill damaged the mining industry. Red Robo damaged the motor industry. Wildcat strikes damage Britain’s business reputation. School teachers damaging children’s education through strikes in order to improve their very good pension scheme is bad for the working class.

18/ Gordon Brown’s destruction of Company Pensions was bad for the Working Class
In 1997 as his first act as Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown increased the tax paid by Company Final Salary Pension Schemes. As a direct result of that tax increase 90% of those schemes are now closed to new members. The destruction of these company pension schemes by Gordon Brown was bad for the working class.

19/ Thatcher’s destruction of industry was bad for the Working Class
Margaret Thatcher’s monetarism experiment closed many British factories and allowed those jobs to be moved abroad. Britain then relied too heavily on financial services and this left Britain vulnerable to the financial crises of 2008. The loss of those manufacturing jobs means that Britain now runs a permanent trade deficit which is funded by more government borrowing.

20/ Britain being Soft on Crime is bad for the Working Class
Criminals just laugh when they are sent to prison, because it is such a soft option. Many criminals also refuse to pay their fines, and there is nothing the Criminal Justice System can do. Violent crimes and the number of murders are rising and this is bad for the working class who are usually the victims of those crimes.
There is not one word in that list to indicate why the SDP is good for the working class.

    • Children need nourishing school meals;
    • Pensioners need decent health and social care;
    • I need a decent hair cut.

Apart from re-stating the needs, what does a list prove?

I think the 20 reasons may be a 'lift' from another party!

Yes money is very short these days so you have to decide where your priorities lie. I see 40,000 women whose lives are in danger because of mistakes, some by themselves, some by the PIP manufacturers, some by the British government and some mistakes were made setting the EU Single Market rules.

So my priority is to save the lives of 40,000 women. Other peoples prioriies might be a £34 billion fast rail line to Birmingham, £9 billion on the Olympic Games, a big fireword dispaly during the Olympic opening ceremony, a huge Jubilee celebration, a new Royal Yatch Britainia costing £100 million, or £30 billion on a new airport in the Thames estuary.

I make no apologies for saying my priority is to save the lives of 40,000 women in distress.

I thought I had covered the need for a good quality education for working class children, and compared it to the disastrous policies of the Lib/Lab/Con and their Comprehensive education ideal.

The 20 reasons were only where the SDP policies differ substantially from the Lib/Lab/Con

But if you demand that I say it then yes the SDP would support children's nourishing school meals, pensioners getting decent health and social care, the need for a decent hair cut, motherhood and apple pie.

You have got me interested. What other party would have these same 20 reasons.

    UKIP
I dont think so. UKIP have never mentioned the working class in any policy during the last 18 years.

    Labour Party or Communist Party
I dont think so. Those parties have never given any criticism to militant trade unions and they also supported Arthur Scargill and Red Robbo.

    Conservative Party
I dont think so. The Conservative Party think that Margaret Thatcher is the best thing since sliced bread. They are also rather keen on increasing the National Debt by 2 billion pounds a week. The Conservatives are also quite happy with a Balance of Payments (Trade) deficit with the rest of the world of a billion pounds a week.

    BNP
I dont think so. I have never heard the BNP talk about full employment. I have also never heard the BNP criticise millitant trade unions.

All very emotive and melodramatic, but neither are the best foundations for political policy.

Are 40,000 lives about to be lost?

There are about 1,000,000 lives in danger in Africa, maybe we should pay to feed all of those as well!

There are a lot of things that people feel emotional about, do you want the UK taxpayer to fund all of those as well?

I note that you have moved ground and now admit the the fault lies not just with the UK Government but also with the women, the manufactureres and the EU so why should it ONLY be the UK taxpayer that pays?

You seem unwilling to admit that is will be the People of this country that you would make pay, that is where the Government money comes from.

As we know that the rich are able to evade paying their full share of taxes I am sure that the Working Class will be interested to see that you are only too ready to spend their hard earned money on a few women who gave in to their vanity.

Maybe you new slogan should be
"SDP, we will screw the working class majority to pay for the vanity of the few"!

I have no sympathy for women who chose to have these implants and paid thousands of pounds for the operation! They should claim compensation from the manufacturers!
Those who had them for reconstruction reasons should question why they were approved when they are obviously not fit for purpose.
