A very small plaque.. not a big one on the floor, never mind the rest of it .. the Lawrence family are "celebrities" now .. My point remains, I see a difference in how these cases are being handled, and it is quite enough to get my attention .. even from here.
    I am paying attention now.

I think the issue is more one of the London centric nature of the news.

We had a murder up here of 2 Chinese students. It was a horrible, brutal killing. Hardly rated a murmur on the national news. I suspect the death of the student in Manchester got the prominence it did largely due to the Beeb relocating to Salford.

I am sure Neville and Doreen do not wish to be "celebrities". I think they have behaved with dignity.

Maybe Chinese don't "rate" ... still, my impression .. and that's all it can be from here .. is still one of exceptional sympathetic coverage is given depending on race. It is a feeling that appeasement is behind it... a scaredycat appeasement.

btw.. the 23 yr student victim looks far older, as I remarked.

I have not seen any pics so cannot comment.

I honestly think that it is more down to the news have a more Londoncentric view of the world.

A few weeks back when we had awful gales up here, people dying and life being disrupted it hardly merited a mention on the main news indexes.

Of course it is honest in what it presents.

    I would say more parochial.

Now everything you have said there, says the you see the News as having some bias!
Which means in truth you can admit it when you want, but ignore it when it doesn't fit your own Political leanings.
