The real reason the 'One England' party supports the touchstone liberal policy of gay marriage is the fact that it greatly desires putting explicit sexual conduct at the heart of the legal basis for gay relationships, rather than 'companionship' (as is currently the case with civil partnerships).
Marriage between a man and a woman, in law, presumes a sexual relationship. A civil partnership does not.

The flagship equality policy of the 'One England' party - "We believe that the current system of marriage being only for different-sex couples and civil partnerships being only for same-sex couples is wrong, and leads to division" - supporting gay marriage is based upon the correct belief that under current law there is no legal presumption of a sexual relationship in a civil partnership.
A civil partnership is currently based upon companionship, while a marriage between a man and a woman has a presumption of a sexual relationship. There are specific laws regarding marriage which do not apply to a civil partnership - such as setting aside a marriage due to adultery or annulling a marriage if one partner refuses to consumate it. There is no such legal provision for a civil partnership.
So a civil partnership has no presumption, in law, upon there being a sexual relationship between partners.
The 'One England' party dislikes this situation intensely, and wishes to see certain explicit conduct have a legal basis in gay marriage. But why doesn't 'One England' tell the public this?
